The revised city documents also will replace instances of gendered pronouns, such as "he" and "she" with "they," according to the ordinance.

English needs a better gender neutral singular term.

You're so anti Hispanic.

No, they clearly distinguish between singular + plural third person pronouns. Whereas we do not.

Their nouns all have a female and male gender variant and default to the male when gender isn't specified. Just like English.

And they are all different words, unlike "They"

So... having non-gendered words is now bad? This is why everyone hates the left. The rules change from one hour to the next.

That's pretty funny.

Sending a glossy engagement picture and personalized letter with a house bid today. We gotta differentiate ourselves from the Chinese investors!

Possible we bid on up to three different houses this week. Mid summer is about as high as inventory levels are going to get here.

Our first choice (bid due today) has never been on the market, ever, and it’s 65 years old. Was built with the rest of the neighborhood by city people fleeing sf after the last bad quake.

holy shit you guys. We are under contract. on house #2. It was nicer than house #1, a little further up into the hills. Shook.

:!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!:

We learned a few lessons from the other failed bids and submitted one of those no contingency offers that we've been getting smacked with. It was the only house so far worth doing that on.

Like no inspection contingency? "No contingency" when we were buying mean "not contingent on selling our other house," but you rent?

Yeah. The house’s disclosure included a recent home inspection and all the contractor receipts from the last 3 months or so. Brand new roof with receipts. Stuff like that. Even a foundation inspection. We waived based on that. Technically we still have an out if the appraisal comes in low, but it’s a small worry.

Thanks dudes.!! House ownership is terrifying, but it is time.

Yeah, Chicago died when we contemplated January and February there and the wife needing to start over again. She’s earning more than me out here so it didn’t take long. Then we started house searching and a month later here we are.

Congrats! Hopefully everything is smooth sailing from here. I always hated this part in between where things are officially moving, but not officially finished.

Thanks! This part was better than the bidding wars. It made me really anxious and I wasn't sleeping a lot waiting on those outcomes. We are now t-minus 20 days until we get the keys. Finally slept well last night.

We went by for an hour of measuring and taking pictures of things today.

Two suburban turned city people will need to take a crash course in gardening and agricultural, stat. The house is very move-in ready, but it is a big lot .2 acres (big for this area) with 5 medium apple trees of some kind(which were all full of green and slightly redding apples today) a small orange tree, and a walnut tree that looked a little rough. Also Bees! Butterflies!

We've signed on up to pick up fruit forever. I imagine it will attract some furry guests too.
