TSLA definitely has issue, and is down ~18.75% in the past 5 days alone, down about 33%+ from it's high. Bonds are trading at 90% value, which implies a low risk of bankruptcy, though.

Tesla burned more than $3.4 billion last year in free cash, defined as operating cash flow less capital expenditures. If that pace were to keep up, Tesla would run out of its usable cash before this year ends. Worse still, there is reason to believe the free cash burn figure was understated.
That's more than 4 months, but not long.

I already canceled my deposit a couple of months ago.

Don't complain about our computer overlords.
Victim who died in Tesla crash had complained about Autopilot
...
Autopilot was on when he died, apparently.

Though, he was killed by the specific situation he had complained about:
Walter Huang's family tells Dan Noyes he took his Tesla to the dealer, complaining that -- on multiple occasions -- the auto-pilot veered toward that same barrier -- the one his Model X hit on Friday when he died.

I didn't read the article. But how many times does your auto pilot have to drive towards a wall before you stop using it?

that question you asked is >= X + 1, where X is the number of times he veered toward the wall, before he hit the wall.

I was going to say:

x - 1 where x = the number of times he used his autopilot.

Self driving Tesla hits parked cop car.

What exactly was the driver doing? How can passengers in these things not be riveted to what the car is doing?

I think once you stop paying a little attention, it's easy to stop paying any attention.

I think I'm at least 5-7 years away from buying a self-driving car.

Why is it that every time you tell someone you're planning on buying an electric car, perfect for your daily commute, they immediately say, "No, get a Kia/Prius/Hybrid, they hardly use any gas."

Why is that? Every single time.

At the risk of sounding like the others. . . . Is this an "I care about the environment" thing, or "I want to save money by not buying gas any more" thing or an "I just want to be 'That Guy'" thing? Reason I ask, the last time I looked, there were other cars that save you money. Electric/hybrid cars rarely have low cost of ownership ratings. So many people equate 'not buying gas' to saving money with their vehicle. Keep in mind that any electric car you buy will have very poor resale because replacing the batteries will be VERY expensive.

In summary, people always say that because electric cars are stupid.

I got a sweetheart deal on a brand new 2018 Ford Focus.

6 miles. Paid less than $15K.

I refill the gas every two weeks. I'm happy.

Most used ones are.like 2 years old, 14k miles, and $12k. That seems super cheap.

I assumed people couldnt deal with the 140 mile battery range. But that's absolutely perfect for my kids commute to.school.

You might want to check around and see who in your area can service them. It'd suck to buy one and find out you had to have it trucked to another city for service work.
