Should companies be required tomake website s accessible to the blind?

I say yes, but I also say that the current law doesn't say yes.

I assume making the website accessible to the blind means simply making voice commands work?

Why would Dominos fight this? I assume it's cost prohibitive?

I assume they are fighting it be a violation of the ADA, which, iirc, has large fines attached to it.

You'd think making it blind accessible would be a good thing for a business.

Their site was pretty awesome as far as usability. Not sure how that translates to voice command software. As long as there's an alternative (calling in the order) that's readily available, then I'm kind of leaning toward giving Dominos the benefit of the doubt here. I could be persuaded, but I suspect that it would break their great web site.

I see the point, but it is a burden.

Seems like one of the few places where a chat bot might actually be useful

One assumes there is a text--->braille type reader out there, for erotica. I know text-to-voice exists, and is common.

I wonder if they have favorite porn stars. Bet it would be a totally diff standard. Good voice, good narration, etc.

My guess would be that they have Penthouse Forum on audio or something like that.

I know Playboy used to do a braille version back in the day.

Oof. Next stop, radio stations required to accommodate the deaf.

I think there are just some things you should be expected to have to give up when losing a sense, without the world having to fix it for you.

Besides, wouldn't Dominos already have a system to accommodate the blind ordering a pizza, called a telephone?

I think it's reasonable that the accommodations are made, but I think it should be a law, with clear rules.

I agree, but I think it should also be done in a way that doesn't hamper innovation.
