Guns and drugs have their own threads, so booze deserves one since it kills more people annually than both of those things.

Quitting alcohol will make you happier and healthier.

moderate drinkers (14 drinks or less per week for men and 7 drinks or less per week for women)
Holy fuck. That's a lot for "moderate"

When I was in the service I remember them classifying an alcoholic as someone who drank more than 7 times per year.

Well, that's just the other extreme.

I would have defined moderate (post-college) as being more like 5-7 drinks per week for a dude.

I drink Wednesdays during golf, and then it's completely random. I can go months without a drop of alcohol or have several drinks within a few weeks depending on social events.

You are definitely a heavy drinker...

In the past 2 weeks, I've split 1 bottle of champagne with my wife, and that's it. I did have an edible, but that's different. ;)

Damn. I couldn't keep up a homebrew-schedule in that quantity, with my current equipment. And I currently have 2-5 gallon batches fermenting in my basement (a 5-gallon batch is close to 2 cases of beer)... a Belgian Saison, and I brewed an Octoberfest, yesterday. It'll be ready by October, for a change... usually I start it late.

But Oktoberfest is in September?

I can never remember the dates, so my mental shorthand is October 1.

It'll probably be bottled and ready to drink in late September.

This is how I feel about filet, ribs, and creme brulee.
