Starting to see why the left was so upset about the satire interview with Ocasio-Cortez. It's drawing attention to how mind numbingly stupid she is. I suspect that left leaning media will slowly dry up interviewing her as she keeps making statements like this that might get the stupid stink on other progressives running this time around. Might even see more right leaning organizations reaching out to her. I know Ben Shapiro is trying to get her to debate him.

Shes not entirely wrong.
They do not talk about the sticker shock of the cost of our existing system

We're already paying $3.1 Trillion for healthcare.

As for her mortality comment. We sure do get worse outcomes than the other people do.

To be fair, other countries don't eat like we do or sit on their asses like we do. Pretty sure those factors play a part in our mortality rate.

However, I'm with you that our health care system sucked and was an example of out of control greed. Unfortunately, Obamacare wasn't a good answer either.

In a true capitalist system consumers would have always shopped cheaper forcing prices down. However, we don't have that here.

If only someone had pointed out, before the ACA passed, that it was only enriching the primary problem with the American health care system .

But there was so much silence.

I'm talking more along the lines that funeral costs play into the cost of health care at all.

She's an idiot.

Edit: Common Wealth Fund is pretty bad for sleight of hand methodology.

Is this chart per capita? We are the third most populated country on earth. This chart isn't very clear on how they're measuring spending. Also, does that number include R&D in medicine? Not saying our system is perfect, but we have the best medical care money can buy. Just a matter of having that money.

Again, this chart is kind of fuzzy. Are the people in socialist systems considered to have had a death amenable to health care if they died at home waiting on a procedure?

How does the US compare to Europe if you only graph people of European ancestry?

All I could find is that white people spend the most, Asians spend about 25% less (in the US): https://www.healthsystemtracker.org/ind ... -spending/
