So, the best thing about my current diet: No lunch. Or breakfast. Makes meal planning really easy.
And cuts way down on the grocery bill.

Grilled chicken salads with vinegar are cheap and filling for about 20 minutes, then your body realizes it was tricked, and there aren't any carbs, here.

Yeah, that's why I add nuts + fatty salad dressing. Keeps me full for hours.

What are good salad dressings with no carbs or sugar?

I'll try that.

Vinegar/oil gets tedious.

I hate vinegar. I was 18 before I found a dressing I liked at all, and it was a kind of French dressing (Catalina?). Eventually I liked Caesar, too. I'm pretty picky.

Messed up my knee in a soccer game this week. Being old sucks.

I did my ACL in the OTHER knee back in Atlanta and whatever happened this time hurts way worse.

Damn it.

I messed mine up a couple weeks ago. Ran into a tree on my bike. Could hardly walk for three days. Now, I have to keep it elevated every once in a while and it's got a good amount of fluid. It's squishy and gross. Over all, I think it's just a serious bruise. I don't think anything was torn. It's going to take months to heal, I think. At your age, it would be better by now.

So what's the deal with diet soda, when it comes to a low carb, low sugar weight-loss diet?

Assume there's plenty of physical activity during the week, to get rid of the sodium.

I drink mostly water now, and beer once a week or so, but diet pop almost feels like a sinful indulgence, at this point. So it's probably bad for me.

1) It doesn't have very much sodium.

2) There's debate. Generally, most low carb people think a few diet sodas a day is fine.

A few PER DAY? Damn, I thought a few per week was bad.

Yay.

I recently had a discussion with my dad's wife about calories, and weight loss. Remember that conversation we had, about a 500 pound dude walking from Paris to Moscow, eating no food, and still weighing 300 when he got there? She insists that one can fail to lose weight, even with daily negative calories.... for some reason, I can't even remember. It just sounded really dumb to me.

She said the guy wouldn't lose weight, or something. I don't know.

This is the really negative one I mentioned once or twice, "You'll die on that hike!"

I remember the last time I had a IRL weight loss contest. I won big, a couple hundred dollars, and the women in the contest bitched that it wasn't fair, because "it was easier for men to lose weight."

I fasted the last 60 hours before weigh-in. Lost 5 more pounds. I asked how long they fasted before the finish line, and got shitty looks.

Maybe it's easier for men to lose weight because it's easier for men to lay off the fucking bon bons.

Truth Truth.

I could throw myself off a roof prior to 40 and be fine. Now my body is falling apart.

A little of both. It truly is easier for men to drop weight and carve their bodies because mother nature wants women in prime breeding shape. However, not cheating on a diet is really tough for a lot of people.

Ever actually watch "My 600 Pound Life"? These people go in CONVINCED they have been eating perfectly and gain weight while on super strict diets because they're not. It's amazing how people can lie to themselves and totally believe it.

Some days I wish I could just tell my body to poop everything out. Like yesterday. And the day before.

I just pooped and lost more than 1 lb. That felt good.

Mine are now hard to push, dry, angry nuggets.

And that's been your poop report. YW.
