I startled a 3' wide Stingray in the ocean once. Was swimming in 2' of water, and it popped out of the sand. Didn't Irwin me.
. Obviously

In the Georgia Aquarium, we all stopped at one point and they had my kid, the only child there, creep up on this big mound in the sand. He didn't understand what they wanted him to do, because it was just a pile of sand... you know where this is going. It didn't pop up, but they got him next to it, started blowing the sand away with their hands, and it was a giant fucking ray.

No bites. Turtle likes to cuddle. Constantly. For 90 straight minutes.

That was a workout.

Saw the massive aquarium in the Malawi center. Very cool room for meeting.
I'm diving that tank next Tuesday. :-D

That's pretty cool. You're going to be in a target rich environment.

Diving that zebra shark in an hour.

Feel like I need to announce it now in case it's my last words online.

Gonna marry it and live beneath the sea? Make an honest shark of it?

That fucking shark.

WOULD NOT stay off me. I.went in and started the feed show, and it was constantly there, circling within 18 inches. I kept pushing it away as instructed, and it stayed on me. They unplugged my microphone from the visitors watching, and I let the zoo staff know it was all over me. "I.can see that. Wow.". I stayed down a few more minutes trying to wave at kids while fending off a shark... I wonder what THAT looked like... Then it lunged at my midsection and went for a bite. I called the dive at that point.

Zoo staff was watching, "It hasn't done that to anyone else." Sigh.

I think I'm going to volunteer to.come in offhours and let it have at me, so they can observe and try to.figure out what's going on... But I don't want to do that in front of.kids/zoo guests.

Is that how long it took to fuck all those fish?

That picture makes it look like you're chasing them.

I had just turned from the end of the tank, and was then trying to move against the current to get back to the middle, to climb out.

Do you have to be careful with the plants and whatnot? Does the zoo have strict requirements in place to avoid damage to the habitat.

No plants in that tank, nor in the shark tank I frequently dive in.

Also, the coral in the shark tank isn't real. If so, we'd prolly have to be VERY careful with it.

But yeah, there's a general "don't break stuff" rule. I was in the Malawi tank scrubbing algae off the rocks with a scrub brush, and off the glass with a sponge. I have one of each in my hands in that pic.

I'm surprised the Keys are on there, they're somewhat crowded. But... it is part of the second-largest barrier reef in the world.

Everywhere else.... super hard (and expensive) to get there. Part of what makes those places great and unspoiled.
