I have been too busy calling refineries to tell them that TPR made the call, chemistry isn[t an exact scinece. There are lives at stake here.

Chemistry is to molecular quantum mechanics as ecology is to biology. It's a statistics game. Refineries are fine. At the level of the large numbers of molecules they deal with classical chemistry works fine because all the uncertainties become inconsequential. This is also true of olympic swimming pools, so like I said I'm not arguing with you. Just an opportunity to mention something I find interesting and point out that it's not technically an "exact" science.

And also a chance to troll you a little bit, of course.

That leniency with the Ruskies was totally a great idea.
The source, close to the proceedings, who spoke on condition of anonymity said the long jumper had been suspended as new evidence had emerged in relation to a World Anti-Doping Agency report - the McLaren report - and Klishina.
That'd be Darya Klishina, aka the last Russian track and field athlete left standing. Well, not anymore. This really hasn't been their best showing.
On one of her dives during Olympics 3m springboard qualifying, Bazhina somehow took off from the corner of the board. Then, she landed right on her back
...
It looked painful, but it was also costly - she failed to make the semi-finals thanks to a 0.00 score
Goddamn, I haven't seen a score like that since C64 days.

Interesting. She was based on the US, and had received a lot of criticism from Russia about that. I wonder if Russia sabotaged her.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Best Olympics ev4r.
Ryan Lochte and three other U.S. swimmers were robbed early Sunday morning by individuals posing as armed police officers, according to the U.S. Olympic Committee.
...
The four swimmers — including Gunnar Bentz, Jack Conger and Jimmy Feigen — were in a taxi headed for the Olympic Village when the incident occurred, according to the USOC.

The USOC said the four athletes are safe and cooperating with authorities.

That caps off a strange day filled with "Yes he was" and "No he wasn't" regarding what happened to Lochte.

Wife was watching last night and I saw the dive pool was blue again. How'd they do it? My aquarium snails idea?

They drained the water, and filled it up from a practice pool which was fine.

So the algae was still on the pool walls? This is Rio, dog. Biology isn't an exact science either.

Hah.

Well, without the hydrogren peroxide, the chlorine will actually work, against what little algae remains.

And encore.
The qualifiers were held on Tuesday, and the former 2012 Olympic gold medalist didn’t advance, because the dive he attempted was one of the worst you’ll ever see. He splashed face-first into the water, and that’s probably why he received a score of 0.0.
