As soon as my Batch 3 (American Pale Ale) is in secondary I am going to start my Christmas present batch of beer.

I purchased a Brewer's Best "American Light" which is described as the type of beer for light bodied, refreshing, and thirst quenching (exactly how I would describe most bottled American watery light beers), and I have 4 ounces of apple & cinnamon flavoring shipping tomorrow from a lab in Cleveland.

I'll let y'all know.

I think I have now purchased all the beers with "American" in their name.

Wow, no grains in this kit, only "Rice Syrup Solids."

Brewing tomorrow.

Brewed today.

I got 4 ounces of flavoring, and I wanted it to be subtle and understated to I started with just adding half... could not smell it at all under the smell of the wort. Added the whole bottle.... can barely, maybe tell there is a sweet smell.

I hope it works out.

Bottled today.

4.3% ABU, dead center of the expected range.

I tasted apple & cinnamon not at all.

Opened a bottle. It is a tasty light beer, but there is absolutely no hint of apple and cinnamon.

I think the extract company screwed me. I had a feeling it should have been a lot more pungent in the bottle.

Having another. For a light beer, it is very good. Much better than the typical stuff peeps buy by the case.

I think this is what makes the beer "light." Rice instead of barley and shit.

Not literal shit.
