Yeast

Beer brewing, wine aging, whiskey fermenting, soda pop carbonating.  Talk about it here.

Not I.

I've seen yeast kits, with a glass laboratory flask, for growing yeast. There was an air lock at the top too, the same sort you use for fermentation.

Basically you keep the laboratory flask of yeast warm and give it food (they sell yeast food I believe, or maybe it was just powdered malt) until there is enough of it to brew with.

I just learned yeast is a fungus. I thought it was a plant.

Ha ha!

I thought it was a bacteria, but last month my daughter told me it was a fungus.

I looked it up on the Internet to prove her wrong.
