Windows 10
Jesus H. Fn. Christ.
I was just in mid-keystroke, and BOTH monitors went grayscale.
Rebooted... POST splash screen in color, windows logon in color... desktops in black and white.
Googled. Said my video card was going out. Googled more.
Somehow in settings --> ease of access ---> color & high contrast, "Apply Color Filter" got activated, and set to grayscale.
What the mother of fuck.

I always wonder how many times things like StickyKeys, etc are triggered, vs how often people actually WANT them activated.
It's not me, it's someone else.
Windows 10
In my experience, sticky keys has never been intentionally activated.

I have to admit, I am impressed with the 7 seconds: power button --> password.
Granted, part of that is the new HD on MOBO hardware.

That's from powerdown. It's impressive.

I'll have to time mine tonight. I think it's pretty close to 7.

Correction, I was misremembering. I timed it this morning. 7 was from sleep, from powerdown it was 11. My bad.

Server2 is around 45 seconds. But that's also because it has a hardware RAID controller that does some extra checks on each boot.
It's not me, it's someone else.

Loading your OS on an SSD is what gets you the 7-11 second boot times.
Windows 10
Then you have shitty SSDs. Seriously though, you have a bottleneck somewhere then. All of our SSD devices have 7-11 second boot times. Well, correction. As Gordon stated, to "login". The PC is still technically booting, but it gives you access to your desktop. So, maybe you aren't on a later version of windows that does that. I think 8 is when that started.

Windows 10 across the board. Again, the server has a RAID card that does its own boot.Cakedaddy wrote: Then you have shitty SSDs. Seriously though, you have a bottleneck somewhere then. Laptops are probably around 10s from Sleep mode.

The new thing isn't even an SSD. It's that new standard that has a period in the name, and it gets its own little mobo slot.
Something like "M.10" standard. I forget the actual name.

Ah. It's like the size of your finger. Didn't know it was technically an official SSD.

What's funny is that 10 in binary is 2 in decimal.
