Musk slams Zuckerberg over AI knowledge.

Musk believes the fate of the human race is at stake. Dude's all in on Skynet.

Elon's an alarmist douche in this case.

I.can see it going either way.

I can't see a new life form being born with empathy, though.

I think it has a high potential to go sideways. I think it won't look like we think it might. Why create killer robots when you can just blackmail humanity into doing what you want? We will end up having it (or one of them) optimizing the internet balancing everything and it will install dead man switches and tell us what to do. I don't think we can properly teach a machine morals when we behave so inconsistently ourselves when it comes to morals.

Morals are mainly psychological morphine. They're optional.

People have done that, too. No one went apeshit over Esperanto.

I was just playing CodyCross or whatever the other day and the clue was "Language expected to be the world's language by 2040" or some shit and Esperanto was the answer.

I'd be happy to wager that's not going to happen.

That was one aspect I liked in Ex Machina, the robots were communicating to each other in their own language.

English is expressive, but it isn't efficient.

Depends on what gender the AI chooses. Google may pull the plug on it if it goes the wrong way.
