Last year a federal court found that Wisconsin's congressional districts, created by the state's Republican lawmakers and signed into law by Gov. Scott Walker (R), were unconstitutionally drawn to disadvantage Democratic voters.

Here's the thing, though: political gerrymandering is largely a question of intent. You can draw some outrageously unfair districts and then contend that you didn't mean to. That any apparent partisan imbalance is purely an accident, or because of forces outside your control.
That's what Wisconsin Republicans have pleaded before the courts. They've said that the geography of the state's population disadvantages Democrats in a way that can't be helped: Democrats tend to cluster in big cities such as Milwaukee and Madison. That makes it harder for people drawing districts to avoid either splitting them up or packing them all together.
We're now bitching about the fairness of geography and population clusters in the highest court in the land. Goddamnit.

Pffft... I just look at the job they're doing on the promised repeal of Obamacare and I'm not worries about this. Don't get me wrong, regardless of what happens with this proposal the government will waste a shit ton of our money. The only replacement we need for so-called health insurance is to scrap it all. It's all a subsidy program at this point, and those always, always screw up market pricing. Just look at the cost of college.

I could buy that argument if no one had health insurance prior to 2010. But the fact is, most people that wanted insurance had it and they were paying a shit ton less than they are today. The MSM will likely never run the numbers, but I promise there are more people hurt than helped by this program. I know our rates went up and our deductible is $3K now. This is my wife's insurance and she works in a hospital, so you'd think their costs are going to be about as low as you can go. Prior to the ACA, the premium was lower and no deductible (only a copay) for in network care.
They took a look at the CBO numbers and when you exclude the people that would voluntarily opt out of insurance, their number of "people that would lose insurance" drops dramatically.
I forget who it was, but a captain a few centuries back when they landed (I think it was here in the Americas) burned their ships so as to ensure everyone was working towards making the new settlement work. And it worked. Everyone was committed with no ride back to their old home. I think the first step for that would be to ensure they have to use the same system they impose on the rest of us.
