If it turns out that the CIA was spying on the Senate committee that oversees the agency, it would be an outrageous violation of separation of powers.
CIA director responds:
CIA Director John Brennan reacted by asking for caution until the facts are clearly established.

"I am deeply dismayed that some members of the Senate have decided to make spurious allegations about CIA actions that are wholly unsupported by the facts," Brennan said in a statement on Wednesday.

Yeah, that's the intelligence community's bag. Stop trying to steal their thunder.

NSA has suite of malware that can really fuck up your system.
The documents also indicate that some of these viruses disable targets’ ability to use encryption software to mask Internet activity or send emails privately. This and other malware efforts are part of what the NSA documents call its “Owning the Net” program.

NSA director still being a whiny bitch.
However, Ledgett disagrees, saying there were other actions Snowden could have taken.

"He had alternatives," Ledgett said. "Characterizing him as a whistleblower actually hurts legitimate whistleblowing activities."

Go fuck yourself with a NSA hard disk full of naked Yahoo webcam pictures, Rich.

So the thought occurred to me:

Had the US decided not to be a douchebag, Eddie wouldn't be sitting in Russia with a metric fuck-ton of documents in the midst of us getting diplomatically dick-slapped by them. The entire western hemisphere looks to be totally without balls.

Post and Guardian win Pulitzer Prize.
The winning entries about the NSA's spy programs showed the government has collected information about millions of Americans' phone calls and emails based on its classified interpretations of laws passed after the Sept. 11 attacks.

Snowden: Pawn of Putin
Intelligence leaker Edward Snowden surprised the audience of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s annual question and answer call-in show by asking him if Russia has a mass surveillance program.

Snowden, who revealed American surveillance secrets by leaking sensitive documents from the National Security Agency, submitted his question to Putin via video.

Putin, a former Soviet KGB agent, began his response saying he would speak professionally from one spy to another. He denied that Russia has a mass surveillance program, saying it was against Russian law. He said Russian law enforcement only uses electronic surveillance in specific cases to catch criminals.

Nice credibility you have there, Snowden.

Yeah, Snowden kind of pooched it with that one. Of course, I trust ABC News to accurately report the exchange about as much as I would have trusted Michael Jackson with my 10 year old nephew. But bad optics even is it wasn't reported 100% correctly.

There's no way to tell tone from that article. Was it a planned spin question? Or is Snowden actually digging into something over there and will soon be dumping intel about Russia's giant warehouses of hard-drives filling up with recorded phone calls and captured emails?

He'd be shot before he got anything worthwhile.

Yeah, one thing I think is pretty certain... the odds of Snowden getting another job dealing with classified info with ANYONE are just about nil now. So I doubt he's working on digging up anything.

I'd be inclined to believe that.

Dear Mr. Putin,

Are we providing enough Humanitarian aid to Ukraine in their time of crisis? I really feel like boots on the ground will help solve the issue, do you agree?

Only young people, who were already upset anyway.

Old people will just shrug and say "shouldn't be taking nude photos in the first place if you don't want everyone to see them".

NSA admits they've completely disregarded privacy laws for the past twelve years.
The documents, which detail many instances of wrongdoing from 2001 to 2013, were released following a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit brought forth by the American Civil Liberties Union. In an executive summary released on the NSA’s website, the agency says the errors “occur naturally in any large, complex system” and insists it goes ”to great lengths to ensure compliance with the Constitution, laws and regulations.”

The intelligence community of this country is quickly sliding down the competency scale. Errors naturally occur, my ass. Go fuck yourself, NSA. And go fuck yourselves, members of Congress that continually feed funding to these criminals.

The excuse?
Other instances of wrongdoing, the NSA insists, were done as a result of human error rather than intentional improprieties. The agency says employees involved in these activities were properly disciplined.

We're not evil, just fucking idiots. That's somehow supposed to make things ok. If this shit had happened during Teddy Roosevelt's administration, he'd have personally gone down to the NSA and beat the shit out of their director.
