How are they developing a vaccine for something they can't even reliably test for...?

Or have they fixed the testing issues?

I think they are mostly passed that stage at Phase 2. Phase 3 is when they study possible side effects.
Yeah, but then they have to determine long term efficacy, multi-dose or single-dose, etc, which feels like it could take more time.

I would assume that it's getting/got better with time.

Can't seem to be done. If they shut shit down 6-12 months, then everything is going to go out of business. So, again, just shut everything down forever.

"but other stuff will pop up and fill the gap." Sounds like a fun couple years.

She seems nice...

I don't think she says a single thing that's factual or logical.

Serious question: Do people like this exist in other countries? I mean they all have to have crazies, right, and I'm just exposed to the ones in this country?

Yes, they exist everywhere. The U.S. doesn't have the market cornered on crazies.

You just never hear about the others because your news and social media is mostly U.S. based.

Texas says WHOA to re-opening, backtracks a little. Still won't require masks.

Biden wants to make masks mandatory.

Florida is no longer allowing alcohol consumption in bars.

The curve has not been flattened.

Are we going to get quarantine part 2 or are they just going to let people die in the name of keeping the economy rolling?

I can't imagine we go back to quarantine. There's a decent amount of evidence that masks help. The extent to which they help is debatable, but it seems significant.

I read a study about how Norway has done really well even with re-opened gyms, and it included a line about "Norwegians have assiduously adhered to sanitization standards, etc" and I was like "Well, fuck America"

A friend works in a gym in MI and the whole staff showed up this week to sanitize the shit out of the place. They were done one day from opening.

That's when Gov. Whitmer decided to keep gyms closed.

Sanitizing gym lasts part of one day. If you don't have people sanitizing after themselves, then a gesture like that is useless.

Since you can't even get people to put the weights back after they use them, won't happen without harsh policing.
