Well, that's been LONG established. . . .
But as far as this discussion goes, just sharing the other side of the coin.
That the virus is serious business.GORDON wrote:What's your point? I'm an asshole?
And how many of the recovered have permanently scarred lungs?
I love how states are now locking down, and he's ready to call the crisis over.

The only estimate I've seen is 20-30%, that was from China, and it was "diminished lung function/scarring" so they lost some breath, but it didn't say how much, and I'm not sure what the long term prognosis is.
I felt like they did. They were numbers representing people who got it, and what the outcome was. Out of the 126845 cases that have run full course, 108k recovered, 18.5k died. The 411k you mention, we have not seen the end result of yet, so it's just a running tally. Agreed that there are x number of cases that have come and gone without detection which would skew the actual death rate. But just the known cases, it's spreading fast and wide. And of those confirmed, it's killing a lot of them. Granted, a HUGE percentage of those dying are the expendable oldies. But it's still killing people. I like MY oldies and I'd like to protect them! There is also the difference between dying OF COVID, and dying WITH COVID. Then we'd have to look at how many of those people would still be alive if they had not had COVID. Sure, the HBP Diabetic died of a heart attack while infected with COVID. But obviously the COVID was a contributing factor. There are lots of ways to argue the death rate up and down. But bottom line, it's killing a LOT of people. And left unchecked, would kill a LOT more.
It's also possible he has information you don't.
You will feel like a fool for having studied, written, talked about these subjects, criticized and analyzed decisions made by presidents for years without having known of the existence of all this information, which presidents and others had and you didn’t, and which must have influenced their decisions in ways you couldn’t even guess
My expectation that he can keep his mouth shut about anything is small.
Ditto. Also, none of the medical experts, including HIS OWN, agree with him, so I guess he has info they don't even have?
I've seen a lot of criticism about the USA not testing everyone.
I figure it'd be more like flu testing, where they do it at the drop of a hat. But you're right, we need random testing as well in order to determine just how bad this is.
It would give us a much better picture than what we know today. Everyone with symptoms should be tested, but we need random sampling to go with it.
