I mentioned the good mileage of a Kia to both salespeople, and they had the same response, "Yeah, but then you'd own a Kia."

I learned earlier today, on the /leaf subreddit, that new windshields for this car are north of $1k.

Just added $0 glass replacement on my Progressive auto policy, for $4 per month.

In theory, as long as people think that, but Kias improve, there's a market benefit for buying Kias.

I like my car. But I want something faster. But I drive so little it doesn't seem reasonable to blow money on a 911 or Tesla. And the Telsa is hard to justify as long as Elon sucks donkey, and they require a touchscreen for so much functionality. Oh, and BMWs are too expensive to maintain. Hmmm.

I kinda want it to be a convertible, or have one of those all glass panoramic roofs, too.

Does the Leaf do that?

No to my knowledge, but I've never looked into it.

I read somewhere the Leaf has ... Uhhhh.... Some of the highest torque of any car on the road. I don't know the right words.

Almost nobody beats me out of a red light.

Torque's the right word. Electric cars have instant power, not like electric motors. The 0 to 35 on the Tesla was ridiculous.

In my perfect world, I get one of these in a couple of years: https://www.porsche.com/usa/aboutporsch ... me-reveal/

Looks needlessly expensive from beginning to end, unless you're looking for the brand name.

He says "911" and you counter with "Leaf"?

"Needlessly expensive"?

You sound like my dad.

Also it wasn't a 911, it was their electric car, so my Leaf comparison isn't as ridiculous as that.

But I started with the 911. But yeah, electric is very appealing, just need more people making them to have better choices
