Really big, really fast. I guess this will be the first time the panhandle has taken a direct hit from a hurricane of this magnitude.

The storm is supposed to be a Tropical Storm (30-50mph winds, gusts maybe up to 60) and 5-7" of rain. It's coming right for us, but before this year, that never would have canceled school.

To play devil's advocate:
- it's supposed to get pretty bad about the time the kids will be getting on the bus
- at least one county high school was used as a shelter for Florence victims
- our school board is a bunch of pussies
