In 96 and 99 we got hit really hard by Floyd and Fran. Those F hurricanes are fuckers.

Feel bad I’m not around to help put up the storm windows. Wilmington looks like it’s gonna get shellacked.

We gonna get raped. I live east of that green inland marker. I've gone to my parents before to escape hurricanes. They live just west of the green.

At the moment, no. The coast is starting evacuations, and we have a state of emergency.

Actually, it's a 4 now
Florence has been upgraded for the second time Monday and is now a Category 4 hurricane, the National Hurricane Center said. Florence has maximum sustained winds of 130 mph and is expected to continue growing as it heads toward the US East Coast.

The latest track has it being a bit further west, going through Wilmington, Fayetteville, and then Winston-Salem/Triad, so we'd miss the middle.

Hopefully. Last time one came like this we were without power for days, the water treatment plant stopped working, and lot of trees down, University canceled, etc.

We're stocked up on batteries, non-perishable food, and water though. Oh, and flashlights.

My assumption is sustained power outage, maybe up to a week in some places. Wal-Mart already had no bottled water this morning. We have a lot of bottled water, will fill up every vessel. I've got an untapped blue rhino tank for the grill. We should be ok, but if not I have guns and I know where TheCatt lives.

So I can help him protect his stuff, you know.

Yeah, I was counting on being able to use our grill, but it's not a tank, so I have no idea how well gaslines do in these types of storms.

We've got enough food/water to last 3-5 days pretty easily. Fran was 3 to 7 days without power for most people, iirc. Where I live now didn't exist during Fran, so it's only history has been Floyd, which wasn't as bad.
