I wouldn't have thought that when men, women, and children are massacred in mexico, their flavor of christianity would be the main story.

It wasn't. But it was a story. God forbid people provide some context and or history to a story.

Is it only certain religions that make it newsworthy? Terrorist attacks often omit the religion of the perpetrator for some reason.

The people who were killed?

Not really, aside from they were so mormon that the LDS church disowned them.

I also just realized I don't know the religion of the people who murdered them.

What context does this add to their massacre, shoe fetish guy?

Not at all. Not sure where that came from. So do you have an answer as to what context their religion adds to the story of their massacre?

Almost replied earlier but didn’t want to go down the rabbit hole. I see Catt took the bait.

You two are seriously yelling at clouds here. They are Mormons, So I certainly wondered what they were doing in Mexico, so any reporting on it was interesting.

I already did. I'm really not sure what's wrong with you. You're getting all Trump with this. Irrationality, name-calling, wtf?

I also read lots of reporting about Trump’s spiritual advisor who is a three (?) time divorcee who preaches god as prosperity gospel at her mega church.

Utter dogshit.

The article is in poor taste. This is a time of mourning for the people that cared about them. Many of them in their religious community. Agree with their beliefs or not, there's a time and a place. This ain't it.

Eh, that's just your opinion, and a poor one at that. It's information about a story and explains to many who didn't know already who these people are and why they were in Mexico, which I bet was a pretty popular question.

Obviously not too poor of one. It was popular enough that the AP has changed their approach to promoting this story twice now on Twitter. My understanding was that they were on their way to a wedding when killed. This article added zero substance to the story of their murders.

I see this as a version of "she was asking to be raped, just look at the way she was dressed".
