No, but seriously, Biden and Trump are the best fucking options we have?

If you told me that Congress was now working on laws that would link all of your social media accounts together and to your federal/state ID in an attempt to prevent anonymous accounts, I would not be the slightest bit shocked.

They already can argue they would be doing it protect the integrity of elections, to stop the spread of misinformation, etc. That would be more than enough reasoning for a lot of voters.

There's no reason to not have a secured and unsecured internet. If you want to log on to do official things like vote or pay your taxes or do an online medical exam, you log on to your official identity profile. Or hell, even if you just want to be taken seriously in online political debate/discussion.

Then you can still have the Incognito Internet for surfing porn and flaming game forums and spamming twitter. BUT.,,, peeps have the option to filter out the incognito people, in these debates. That way we can easily weed out the spam and bots.

Completely voluntary. If you don't want to engage in online political discourse, no one will twist your arm, and you can still fill out your tax forms and mail them in.

I'm just not a Libertarian any more.
Jorgensen supports individual liberties and considers shrinking the government a major priority. She favors non-interventionism, free and open trade with other nations and promoting nuclear power through deregulation in order to reduce CO2 emissions. In terms of healthcare, she supports a free-market healthcare system over the current system or single-payer.[14][15]

In a Libertarian presidential primary debate Jorgensen said she would immediately stop construction on President Donald Trump's border wall and eliminate quotas limiting who can immigrate to the U.S. During another primary debate Jorgensen said she would "open up the borders" and blamed anti-immigration sentiment on disproportionate media coverage of crimes by immigrants. She argued that immigration helps the economy and the blending of cultures was beneficial.[16][17][18]

She has said the government's response to COVID-19 is "the biggest assault on our liberties in our lifetime", due to both restrictions on individual behavior, such as stay-at-home orders, and corporate bailouts, which she sees as antithetical to free-market principles and biased towards the well-connected.[14][19][20]
I underlined what I agree with, bolded what I don't, any more.

Yeah, she wouldn't be my first choice.

I'm with you on the underlined stuff, but:

-You're for bigger government or did you just not her "major priority" label?

-You didn't underline healthcare, but I'm not even sure what I think is the best system. The previous free market system allowed for rampant price gouging, but I'm not in favor of the government running things either. Where's the happy middle ground option?

-That C-19 opinion is the dumbest one I see on the book of faces daily. I've even seen people equate it, unfavorably, to seatbelt and motorcycle helmet laws. You know, those offenses to our freedom... *eye roll*

-Her stance on immigration is horrific.

I saw a video of Candice Owens talking about immigration to hostile black people (that's not a judgment, they were legit catcalling her), and she hit on something I knew, but didn't ever think about. The Dems constant fight to get illegals legalized, the ever growing population of Hispanics, and the stagnant birth rate in the black community is going to relegate the black vote to backseat status. She says that while the black vote is critical to both parties right now, whether they show or don't show, in the near future it won't mean a thing anymore. That, in her opinion, is one of the ways Dems are actively working against the black community. I found that to be interesting. Even if you argue that the Dems aren't actively doing that with the stated goal in mind, you still have to agree that will be the ultimate result.

Major priority. I don't want larger government, but I don't really care much about smaller, really. I'd like "better" but that just can't happen.

I don't know, but ours is crazy expensive, and also not good, so... I'll try anything else.

Biden anti-Trump ad is a giant lie.

This shit I will never understand. Trump has given you years worth of stuff to attack him on, why make something up? This is 2020, people are going to call you out on it.

The Democrats should seize this, and put Obama on the undercard.
While whites traditionally have the highest voter turnout relative to other racial groups, Blacks have higher voter turnout than Hispanics and Asians. In fact, Black voter turnout was within 1 percentage point of whites in 2008 (65.2% compared to 66.1%) and was actually higher than whites in 2012 (66.6% compared to 64.1%). In 2016, voter turnout for Blacks dipped to 59.6%. While that number was lower than whites (65.3%), it was still higher than Asians (49.3%) and Hispanics (47.6%).
Got a lot of extra Blacks out in 2008 + 2012.

After last time I don't know how anyone trusts any polls or predictions.

We're a long way away from November. All the protests will be forgotten, C-19's effect on the economy will be reduced, and so on.

It's funny that each guy is the other's best chance of getting elected. Each person's strategy should be "shut up and let the other guy lose".

Biden should spend the next 5 months underground
Overall 38% approve of the way Trump is handling the presidency, while 57% disapprove. That's his worst approval rating since January 2019, and roughly on par with approval ratings for Jimmy Carter and George H.W. Bush at this point in their reelection years. Both went on to lose the presidency after one term.
In the race for the White House, among registered voters, Trump stands 14 points behind Biden, who officially secured enough delegates to win the Democratic nomination in CNN's delegate estimate on Saturday. The 41% who say they back the President is the lowest in CNN's tracking on this question back to April 2019, and Biden's 55% support is his highest mark yet.

Biden can only hurt himself, but for some reason I still think the polls are wrong.

I LOVE mentioning this movie, and this time it seems fucking perfect:
Space Traders - a short from the film Cosmic Slop (1994)

Why is it relevant? Watch it. It deals with racism, and there's a key scene about polls. That scene seems super fucking relevant for Trump.

(I'm going to put this in the short film thread too.)

A 2019 survey sponsored by the Brookings Institution, for example, found that 82% of Republicans think the Democratic Party has been taken over by socialists. On the other, 80% of Democrats think the Republican Party has been taken over by racists.

Similarly, a paper presented last year by political scientists Nathan P. Kalmoe and Lilliana Mason cited a survey showing that nearly 60% of Republicans and more than 60% of Democrats agreed that the opposing party is a serious threat to the U.S. and its people. Just over 40% of those in each party thought the opposing party wasn’t just worse for politics, but “downright evil.”

Perhaps most shocking, the political scientists also cite a 2017 survey that found 18% of Democrats and 13% of Republicans agreed that violence would be at least somewhat justified if the other side won the 2020 presidential election.

None of that is shocking.

None of that is particularly incorrect either. :D

Klobuchar "pulls her name" from VP consideration and recommends a woman of color.

Left voters: "Biden! yada yada yada"
Right voters: "Trump! yada yada yada"

Me: "I really hope the elderly racist sex offender and possible pedophile doesn't win..."
