The [s]First[/s] Only Trump term...so far

MSU study says the Dem/Repub divide has never been greater.
Seems the internet, which should be the greatest communication tool in human history, has simply allowed people to migrate off to their own echo chambers.

I'm almost in favor of one of those systems where everyone in a given state/region votes, and then representatives are parceled out by %ages. Even if our government collapsed every 2 years. The current system is way too biased towards duopoly. But who knows, maybe some 3rd party candidate will make a difference some day (HAH).

If the Tea Party hadn't been assassinated, it was a really good attempt at getting things back on track.
But no, sometimes nazis showed up so clearly the Tea Party was the party of nazis.
Meaning... the current system isn't going to allow any challenges to the current system. I've been saying it for over a decade... the only way things are going to get fixed is with blood.

Unfortunately, I agree.
Someone crazy charismatic would have to emerge from the Libertarians, make a run, AND win to hurt the 2 party system. Even then, the Rs and Ds would spend 4 years bashing the person.

Who's going to emerge who didn't date as a teen? It's all rape and fair game, now.

It will all be fair game and fully believable until the Dems can nominate someone. That's when this all will be decried by the MSM as unethical and disgusting political maneuvering.

I'm pretty sure I'm clean enough to run. What the hell, who needs a law degree for Supreme Court?

My confirmation hearings would be pure entertainment and get pretty solid ratings, but I don't know if I'd get a single vote. I'd absolutely win the male vote from the court of public opinion.

Not sure where else to post this...

Yet another reason to dislike Disney.Disney has teamed up with the Seminole tribe to make competition in the casino sector illegal.
This could fit in the Amazon thread, since we covered their resistance to the head tax in Seattle.
On the one hand, I want fewer taxes. On the other, if people are going to gorge on sugar and get fat and make me pay for it, fuck them.

Does it matter that you're clean? I can make a 30 year old allegation and Bam FBI investigation. The accusation is all half the country needs to hang you.

It would need to be reasonable. I don't think Kavanaugh did himself any favors by lying about his drinking.

I'm not seeing any evidence of a lie in that article other than a bunch of people that are saying he's lying.
Edit: I guess I'm looking for accusations of lying that aren't dependent on something subjective that's argued against by people that oppose him. I mean, I think Obama broke his oath to uphold the Constitution when he was sworn in, but not sure of what that means or is worth.

Here's a local (to me) guy who wasn't go to say anything until Kavanaugh lied (his words): https://www.cbs17.com/news/brett-kavana ... 1490919177

Yeah, I saw this guy say he couldn't say if Kananaugh ever blacked out, but he drank a lot. Which really didn't conflict with Kavanaugh's testimony. He said he drank beer and sometimes he drank too much beer and he never blacked out.TheCatt wrote:Here's a local (to me) guy who wasn't go to say anything until Kavanaugh lied (his words): https://www.cbs17.com/news/brett-kavana ... 1490919177
Did see this tonight...

Trump got lots of wealth from his dad, not (just) a $1million loan.
Trump had 2 brothers and 2 sisters? But The Times’s investigation, based on a vast trove of confidential tax returns and financial records, reveals that Mr. Trump received the equivalent today of at least $413 million from his father’s real estate empire, starting when he was a toddler and continuing to this day.
Much of this money came to Mr. Trump because he helped his parents dodge taxes. He and his siblings set up a sham corporation to disguise millions of dollars in gifts from their parents, records and interviews show. Records indicate that Mr. Trump helped his father take improper tax deductions worth millions more. He also helped formulate a strategy to undervalue his parents’ real estate holdings by hundreds of millions of dollars on tax returns, sharply reducing the tax bill when those properties were transferred to him and his siblings.
These maneuvers met with little resistance from the Internal Revenue Service, The Times found. The president’s parents, Fred and Mary Trump, transferred well over $1 billion in wealth to their children, which could have produced a tax bill of at least $550 million under the 55 percent tax rate then imposed on gifts and inheritances.
