"Ward, you were a little too hard on the Beaver."

Huh, I looked that up and you're right about that particular behavior. It looks like free-range birds have the highest incidence of vent-pecking -- presumably due to having the highest mobility.

"Ward, you were a little too hard on the Beaver."

That's a good question, and I don't have a good answer. It'd be on a case by case basis because the world isn't black and white. I think I'd judge actions based upon maliciousness and necessity. Abuse vs farming. Maliciousness vs being humane. I'd agree with that generally. Like I'd never say, e.g....

159617 Woman murders husband because he pounded her pussy. Ok, jokes aside, I'm kind of ok with this killing. I don't think people who are capable of abuse on an animal are the type of people the world needs. How far does that go, in your opinion? I mean, we farm shrimp by crushing their eyes so th...

158577 At some point it'd be more effective to just expand senior center services. You know how every state is legalizing casinos? Combine those with senior living homes. Win-win! They can play penny slots, hog the pool, eat at the buffet, and never need to be driven anywhere. Oh my God, that's so ...

You'll need to subsidize their Lyft (Uber sucks) rides! Plus, you're hurting the oil and car industries. Plus you'd have to reorganize UberLyft so that it's competitive for the drivers to bother driving out to Withered Acres instead of cancelling on the senior and staying in the areas with more far...

The MSM

Six corporations own 90% of U.S. media, as of 2012. This is a huge part of what causes 'media bias' to be a problem. If hundreds of individually-owned news outlets exist (and perhaps more importantly, if very few nation-wide outlets do), it matters much less that any one is biased because collectiv...

Re: My mother-in-law - The art of learning to not give a fuck.

Her behavior is a textbook example of gaslighting. She obviously has faculties and memory -- she remembers every detail of what's owed to her, but when it comes time to discuss what she owes anyone else, it becomes much more convenient for her if you believe that she's a doddery old woman with a rot...

If the young and poor actually voted in the numbers that the relatively more wealthy and aged do, government's infl...
