QUOTE I might see this opening day. Even better, might check it in IMAX on the Thursday before. Tix bought for IMAX screening at the joint they shot Mallrats in.

I can give people that make shitty movies my money and not feel like I've violated my principles. Giving money to people that fire American born IT people and import them from India I can't do. It's a principle thing for me.

Who did that? Disney? Marvel? ABC? ESPN? Pixar? LucasArts? Hulu? A&E? The Muppets? Maker Studios?
It's all the same company.
Fox isn't just behind terrible Fantastic Four movies, but also mostly bad X-Men movies, including the worst translation of a superhero EVER in Wolverine: Origins that just happened to be Deadpool. They're also partners with Marvel and some profits do go to Marvel/Disney, so...

Yeah, it pisses me off too, but the trend of giving IT jobs to India has already been proven to be a stupid idea. It actually costs more, lowers customer service and satisfaction, and pisses people off. Disney just hasn't caught up to the rest of the world yet.
SaaS is the new outsourcing, but at least those jobs are here.

(Vince @ Jan. 29 2016,16:38)
QUOTE (TheCatt @ Jan. 29 2016,14:07)
QUOTE Disney's case is different. Â They weren't outsourcing to India, they were hiring H1-Bs to replace Americans in America. That's illegal. Exactly. Â Sending your help desk overseas is one thing. Â Irritates me, but what Disney did was a whole different level of corporate evil. And don't get me wrong, it really pisses me off that I feel the need to take a stand and not give them money. Â I'm giving myself two movies that I'd psyched myself up to see before I decided to not give them my money (Capt. America 3 and Avengers 3), but have resigned myself to not see any more moving forward. Â It's easier now. Â Star Wars was a little less tough for me since Abrams was doing it, but some of these are going to hurt. And I know in the long run it doesn't matter to Disney. Â Guess I'm doing it more to improve who I am than try to fix who they are. I can understand your stance IF you wrote them a letter. It's not hard to find out email addresses and if you carpet bomb them, maybe they'll get the message. Copy Florida state senators and stress how what they did was illegal.
Just boycotting movies without at least letting someone know why is kind of pointless.

Kind of depends on what my goal is. I'm not out to take on "the mouse". My campaign wouldn't make them less... unethical? Evil? whatever it is... Just decided to try to live my life more in accord with my principles.
Kind of like if I decided to go vegetarian. I wouldn't protest the meat industry.

Sequel talk. QUOTE "Deadpool," a Marvel Studios' creation, opens Feb. 12, and is rated R. Reynolds hopes the film paves the way for more "grown-up" superhero flicks.
"I think it has to, I hope so," he recently told ScreenRant. "There are a lot of superhero movies out there on the market. It's a genre unto itself. I personally would like to see more rated R ones. I just think it's time. We'll see if this holds. Hollywood shamefully copycats every movie that works -- so if this does work, you'll probably see more rated R films!"
"I don't think you're going to see a rated R 'Avengers' movie, but there's room for other ones," Reynolds added. "I think there's room for a rated R 'X-Force' movie!" Allow to preface my response: I hate Ryan Reynolds and his previous superhero roles. But goddamn I hope he's right.

Go see this. Â Felt like it dragged a couple places, but good overall. Â Rated a hard R. Â Titties, fucking, gore, blood, copious cursing, and what looked like burn victim dick. Â You'll be sold by the end of the opening credits. Â Additionally, Leslie Uggams is awesome. Â Lastly and most importantly, FUCK Rob Liefeld and his feetless scribble-people who have too many fucking pockets.
EDIT: Trailer for Superman v. Batman makes that movie look more and more like ass. Â The Lex Luthor performance could make Affleck's acting merely the second worst aspect of the film. Â Currently in terms of quality, it looks somewhere between the second and third Keaton entries.
