September 18th.

Seriously, if you never played the first one, and you like FPSs, you really, really should give it a look. It's fantastic.

Oh yes i will be preordering this one! a new character class, special guns, a golden key among other things! This game will be interfering with my League play, but oh well..

Sooooo many weapons to choose from, sooooo many guns, soooo much looting, whats not to love about this game!

If you buy it on the PC we can play online co-op. Might even talk some of these other folks into joining us (it still plays 4 right?).

It'd be easier to play online than always meeting up to play on a dual screen TV with an X-Box.

unless i get a new PC by september then i don't think that will be hapenning. My PC wont be good enough to play that game.  So will be getting it for Xbox, and it can be played on xbox live so we don't have to split screen. i did it in the first game all the time. And yes, it will still be 4 player co-op

Pretty sure my X-Box Live account expired and I have no intention of paying $60 for a game, and then another $50 just to play it online occasionally. Particularly not for a FPS, which are FAR superior with a keyboard/mouse. Not to mention that I'd be going backwards in terms of technology, and thus, not seeing as pretty of a game. (Brand new PC versus 6 year old X-Box...)

They can for certain games, but not for most. If Steam is out for X-Box, then maybe...

I'm pretty sure I haven't turned my X-Box on since LoL came into my life. Can't justify the cost for another Live subscription just to play Borderlands. Plus, on the PC it'll be cheaper, look better, sound better, have cheaper DLCs, I don't need a $50 annual account to play with friends, and I can use a keyboard/mouse.

That's tough competition for the X-Box.

I highly recommend you save yourself $110, and put it towards a PC to play the game on...

They did it for the game shadowrun but that was it. There was talk of auto aiming help for the console players but still lagged behind.

I think PS3 and PC players can play Portal 2 together.

Who's in on this?  I'm seriously considering picking this up, preorder, as a PC game for multiplayer purposes, which is something I don't think has happened since the days of X-Wing v. TIE Fighter (and when I find a way to make my 17-button Firebird joystick work, we can fire that up).

If it's anything like the first one, it will constantly remind you that, like Gauntlet, it was meant to be played with all the characters there.  Nothing worse that loot drops full of shit you can't use since cash becomes meaningless after a bit.  Maybe they've found a better endgame use for it than death, though.  I can think of lots.

I would be up for it Malcolm, but getting two more will be an issue.

Judging by the responses from the rest of the forum dwellers, few took my advice and tried out Borderlands.

Only Stranger and myself have played it and are clamoring for the sequel. However, Stranger is getting it for X-Box because he doesn't have a PC to run it yet.

I have preordered! but i had to go the 360 route cause i won't have my new PC for another few months and i refuse to wait that long to play this game.

So if anyone wants to play some co-op on the Xbox when it comes out lemme know.  I know that most of you here are gonna hate on the 360 cause you have such sweet PC's but i don't care.  So GFY!!

And since my old co-op partner (ahem....Leisher) is gonna let me down and not gonna roll with me on the Xbox anymore, im in need of some new friends to play this wonderfully gory loot fest with.

Going to be another few lifetimes before I drop cash on a console again.

Looks interesting, but honestly just don't have the time.  95% of my gaming time goes to LoL.  I play some Civ5 or TF2 when the guild isn't around.

I have about 10 games in Steam I bought on sale and never installed as it is.  And 4 games in boxes next to my computer that I never installed.

Again, sorry but I'm not going to pay $50 for an X-Box Live account just to play a single game online. Not to mention the $60 for the game itself.

You should dump TF2.

Borderlands is one of those games that comes out of nowhere. It reminded me a lot of Half-Life in how nobody talked about it, and then it gets released, and Wham! it's one of the biggest games out there. It's different. It has a great style, multiple characters, co-op, loot galore, lots of humor, etc.

It's the game we were begging the industry to make before LoL.

Hilarious... I just checked my Steam library, and I have Borderlands.  I must have bought it on sale and immediately forgot about it.

On the contrary, everyone should try it again.  Mann vs. Machine has completely changed everything, and makes the reason most people left (too many weapons differentiation blurring class lines) a moot point.

Admittedly a couple of weeks later it'll be deleted again.  But it'll be a very fun couple of weeks.
