I think that shard (and most other pvp shards) do it right. Quick easy combat skills. Time consuming crafting skills. Again, the crafters NEED it that way so there's a market for their goods. Otherwise, everyone has a mule and there's no need for trade.
And I agree with Gordon. I never had a 7x GM character.

By the way, the forum list I was browsing where I found my name. . . is me. It's a UO Gamer supported server and they use the same username/pass DB for that site that they do for the UOGamer.com site or something. So, it wasn't a hater posing as me. . . it was me. But then, I sometimes hate me so, maybe it was. Or something.

Well if it makes you feel better, I hate you.

Ya. But you don't count. For anything. So, I don't think it does.

If you feel your hate quota isn't quite what it should be, I'll tell you what. I've got some extra I can sell to should you wish to increase your hated footprint upon reality.

Anyway, I still think faster skill gains is bad. It don't give you a faster starting (you still need money) and it screw up the others templates.
If you just want to fight, a 3D shooter is the right choice, not a RPG game.

Last time I started a server figuring you would join, you purposely started a different server.

Gordon, do you remember a 'Thor' from any server we were on? I think it was from GL, but don't remember. He's saying hi to me on the forum (was asking questions) and asked about you. Can't remember if he was with us, or an enemy guild.

Messing around on the server.
Fair number of people play on it. Been attacked a few times, but not killed yet.
You can track multiple people at the same time. I was just doing two.

Fightin' random reds with the random blues at the Brit GY. Not too bad. No horses though. But, run fast enough. I'd say that now you can run about as fast as you use to be able to on horses back in the day. So, it's not too bad. Was chasing a red for a reeeeaaaalllllly long time with another blue. Funny how far reds run. . . anyway, he was an archer. I'm a 0xGM fencer with a kryss. The other blue was an archer. Red was a hally mage, of course. When the red was going to fight, he'd open up with a paralyse. I'd see him casting and let the archer go in. He'd get paralysed. I'd then run in and attempt to disrupt his follow up spells. I did more often than not. The archer can still shoot while para'd, so it was working out pretty well. Even on this shitty as hotel wireless, I was able to keep up with the red for the most part. I was anticipating him like crazy and getting in random hits through out the chase. He tried to recall more than once, but I'd disrupt him. He talked very little trash, cause he couldn't pause long enough to type anything. We had him below half health a few times, but he was never in any real danger. He then rapid fired some teleports and got some distance on us. That gave him time to cast a recall. He took the time to type "k bb" and then recalled.
For being a random blue, he fought well. Didn't panic when I pulled away from the fight the first time and either didn't care, or trusted me to run back in and help. It got to the point where I was tired of chasing, but didn't want to abandon the blue. So I stayed with my wingman and continued the chase.
Anyway, was good for a bit of fun. Saw two reds and about 5 random blues while camping the GY. Didn't start fighting till I got a feel for what was happening. Studied the red's moves and then put myself into position. He came in the same way, and retreated the same every time. So, I hid where I could watch him go in, and then was ready to try to intercept him retreat.
Houses are everywhere, and there are tents. You can also talk while hidden. Remember doing that way back when?
So far, decent UO fun being had. I'm going to turn on the 'screen shot on death' just in case.
