Ugh.

Calling it... it's gonna suck, just because it is so unnecessary.

The writers mentioned are hacks.

I am really hating the trend to show way too much in the trailer.

Full trailer and it looks good.

You should have avoided seeing the original!

Saw this last night.  If you look up "unnecessary, uninspired remakes" in the movie encyclopedia, this fucker should be there.  Even the names of their kids pissed me off -- Kendra, Griffin, and Madison.  I was rooting for the ghosts early on.

Without going into spoiler territory:

1) They play up the clown way too much.  It's on the poster and in every trailer.  When you see it on screen, it's exceptionally lame.

2) The tree.  Just wtf?

3) The broke family conveniently buys a $500-800 flying camera drone.  Because that's what I do when I've got two maxed out credit cards, a fuckload of debt, three kids, a "writer" wife that hasn't sold one manuscript, a new house, and no job.

Will start a spoiler thread later.  Fucking horrible film.

Yeah, this wasn't great.

Bad acting, bad direction, bad writing, bad pacing, etc.

The original is FAR superior in just about every way.

The little girl is nowhere near as good in the role as the girl in the original. The little boy in this one is creepy as hell though.

Everything else is shit. Watch the original, skip this one.
