Super cute movie.  Heard some griping about changes made to the original comic or anima show or whatever it came from.  Don't care.  It was a very cute movie and entertaining for all ages.

Animation was incredible.  Particle physics in these are getting sick realistic.  The fog rolling in during scenes in this are very impressive.

If you have kids, you'll want to watch.  If you don't have kids, it's still worth your time.

What about the beginning?  Have heard there's some kinda scary backstory/scene about someone dying?

No more so than any other Disney film.  The main character's brother dies in an explosion.  You see the building explode.

I wouldn't rate it any worse than Disney's usual fare of Bambi's mother becoming dinner for someone or that sort of thing.  When you think about it, I don't know of a single Disney character that has both their parents.

Rapunzel.

I enjoyed the movie. The characters were really likeable and the story was well done, although fucking tragic. Nobody in this movie is unaffected by the events that occur. Even the bad guy gets their share of tragedy.

(Although, if I'm being honest, the event that gets the film going is weak.)

Well worth seeing.

Rapunzel.

Well... only after 18 years.

Mulan?

EDIT: Interesting.  If there's one dead parent it's always the mother.  What does Disney have against mothers?

Because when people have mothers, someone is there to tell them not to do dumb things.

Not nearly as much as they have against stepfamilies.  Did you see Cinderella?
