Torchlight is a 20 dollar game that hits way above it's price point.
It is also made by the same people that made Dialbo 1 and Diablo 2 and has a musical score made by the guy who did those games as well.
Did you like Diablo? Diablo 2? ARPGs in general? Download the Demo (on Steam) and try it out.
Official page
Reviews seems to be good, I heard about it somewhere and then tried the demo from Steam. Instantly hooked. Difficulty wise, go higher than you expect. Hard seems to be Diablo 2 level, and Very Hard is more Diablo 1.

Bought it. Looks like something I could play at work during lunch.

I like it. And yeah, you can play it in short bursts and still enjoy it. Even as little as five minutes can be worth it.

Picked it up when it was five bucks during the steam sale. Definitely worth it. I love the pet being able to run back and sell stuff, you don't have to waste a portal scroll each time you want to return.
Not thrilled about not having a save button. Just waiting for the game to crash and lose my progress because I didn't go back to town or exit out of the game.

Ditto and ditto.

I think that's brilliant and I'm stunned nobody has thought of this previously.

Eh, I usually just went myself wherever I could use a scroll. I had town scrolls coming out of my ears.
It's handy for those special dungeon areas where you can't make a portal, though.

Was playing normal and not having any issues at all and so I switched the difficulty to hard and now my berserker is getting his ass kicked. Going through potions like crazy. Finally died. Not dying that often but the potions are accumulating like they use to.
Seeing a huge jump in difficulty between the two.

Hard is quite a bit tougher, yes. I'm finding it survivable mainly because I'm playing it three times at once, three different classes on the three different difficulties, and the easy character is passing good equipment to the other two.

What is money for? The blacksmith never seems to have anything good that I am a high enough level to use and by the time I get to the level I need to buy the good stuff he has I have found better stuff in the dungeon. The only thing I spend money on is the enchanter to give little boosts to my equipment.
Have not tried the item gambling yet.

I spent all my money on those little gem thingies wherever someone was selling them. Then you combine them over and over again into better gems, for better bonuses to plug into sockets. I have yet to have the game tell me I can't combine them into something even better, although in theory there has to be an upper limit to them.

Wasn't sure if it was worth it to buy them since I was also finding them but then if I don't have anything else to spend my cash on I will probably start that also.

Once you start combining them, you'll find you need more. It takes dozens of the same time to make the powerful combined versions.

Actually, it specifically takes 2^(x-1) cracked gems to make a gem of power level x.
2 cracked = 1 dull 4 cracked = 2 dull = 1 discolored 8 cracked = ... = 1 normal 16 cracked = 1 cut 32 cracked = 1 polished 64 cracked = 1 whatever this is that I can't remember it's called
That's the farthest I've gotten. I've not gotten enough of one type to see if there's another level beyond that yet.

I see that I am getting achievements but I don't see where I can go back and look what I did to get them. Any idea where these achievements are at?

I didn't buy it through Steam, so no clue I'm afraid.

How about those maps you can buy that take you to the special/instance dungeons? It will say the map is 1-10, 1-20, 10-20, etc. I was assuming that 1-10 meant that those were the levels you should be or that monsters will be but I am running into monsters 5-6 levels higher then the highest number in the map name. No way I could make it through if I was between levels 1-10. Not sure what is going on with them.

I think the numbers do refer to what level you'll want to be in there, but it's more about the stuff you get. Those things are rich with excellent equipment. But they aren't easy to clear, not by a long shot.

Really looking forward to the Torchlight MMO they are developing. Suppose to be free to play and I read that the developers where hoping that it would be free to those who bought torchlight since the current game was more practice before making the MMO.
This game would be fun with other people running around the dungeons.
