Daddy want.
Doom 2 was one of the first pc games I ever played, along with Duke Nuken 3d, and RTS game Command and Conquer. Â This would have been 1996ish.

Doom II was the first first-person game I played against people. Â I remember meeting people on BBS' and playing against them. Â At first they'd either call my phone line, or I'd call theirs, but eventually I went to a bigger BBS that would allow multiple people to connect. Â Still, I don't remember playing any deathmatches with more than three players.
Man, that was addicting. Â Watching someone shoot a missle at you from a distance was incredible.
I bought the full version of Doom II (on floppies) but I don't think I ever bothered to pass it. Â No... wait... I do remember fighting the last guy. Â Maybe I did? Â Or maybe I cheated and got to the last level. Â I do remember playing that over and over and over again to finally kill him.
I see that Doom III will be out on Xbox as well. Even though the graphics won't be as good, I may get that (eventually). My home PC has about the same processor as my Xbox.

Well, I saw it on our unit's only PC, but I never got to spend the 40 hours to play it.

We played the demo of Doom a lot as well. Â I never bought the game, but liked it enough to get Doom II when it came out.
My stepfather had given me his old 386 that had an overdrive kit installed to make it a 486. Â It wa a big improvement from the Macintosh I had been using. Â My Mac had a tiny b&w screen, and an external 2400 baud modem for hooking up with BBS's.

I missed out on Wolfenstein 3D. Â I had a Mac when it was out. Â I didn't even see it played until after I started getting bored with Doom II.
I love the Aliens mod to Doom II. Â It was the first time I was scared while playing a video game. Â I still remember playing it that first night. Â It was incredible.

Was it out for the Commodore 64? I had a bunch of games back then. I remember playing California Games & Skate or Die all the time.
