Been playing CS:GO for a few years now, and just realized there wasn't a thread for it.

Anyone else play? I finally got my promotion to Gold Nova 3, and am about 1 or 2 games at most from my promotion to Gold Nova 4. Been playing a lot of ranked lately trying to get as close to global elite as possible, at this point I'm more than halfway there. 2 more ranks from where I'm at now, and I can start playing in tournaments and stuff, which is pretty cool.

The game is amazing though, I'd love to hear otherwise. It started out pretty rough on release and wasn't really liked by most of the veterans, but in the past few years they've spent a lot of time fixing those issues and improving. Best tournament style FPS out there in my opinion, which makes sense as the Counter Strike series really always has been the better of all the T-FPS games.

Noticed a lot of teams are throwing games to drop in rank, making it possible to put themselves in a game against players MUCH less skilled. . . Which is bullshit. What competitive matchmaking game doesn't have these issues though, League of Legends had more issues with smurfs then any game ever. At least you've got to drop $20 on a new copy of CS every time you care to smurf in CS:GO.

Wish they could create a better version of matchmaking. EX:

My team ready's up, and based on our over all MMR, we're placed in a lobby with several other teams with comparable MMR. From there, you chose which teams on the list you care to challenge with the ability to look up their individual ranks (sift out the assholes with 12 matchmaking wins, and 13 hours logged in CS:GO (Clearly smurfs)). From there challenges are accepted/declined. . . . etc

A team builder would be cool aswell, for solo MM. I can chose players from a list, to ensure I don't get that asshole from Venezuela who can't speaka the language, and has a ping of 357. . . .

Good to hear. With the largest demographic of players in Esports, I'm surprised they're able to police as well as they do. Hats off to Valve, and one of the worlds greatest Esports franchise's out there, Counter-Strike.

I'd bet there are more professional players/teams in Counter-Strike then there are in any other game to date. DreamHack is one of the biggest Esports events out there, thousands of people watch, hundreds of players compete.

Nice post Leisher!
