A persistent world real time strategy game. Interesting concept.
What I pieced together from some quick searching:
1. You build your city, but, much of it is a prepackaged thing. You build your castle one wall at a time, but, you don't place the walls. They are place by the server. People equate it to OK'ing building orders. You get to place some things. I know this because people complained about not being able to place huts in spaces reserved for future walls. People wanted to build their own castles. Others said you can't so people can build impenetrable fortresses.
2. Your city is in your own space. Yes, you are online, but you can not be attacked by other players. There is a PvP system. But, it's seems to be mutually agreed to events. I did not verify that. But, people said that players are in their own parallel universe.
3. The race you pick determines your team. Your team owns 3 areas at the start of a campaign. You build your city and influence by completing quests and other unconfirmed stuff. Quests seem to be similar to "There are some ogres bothering this area. Go kill them."
4. You can siege AI castles/strongholds solo or as a team with other people.
I get the impression that you just fight AI, and possibly other players to earn 'points' for your side, and capturing other team's points. I did not see this system of play explicitly stated, but, that's the best impression of overall game play that I could put together.
It's a 'work in progress'. Pretty much any complaint stated, someone tries to counter with "the devs are constantly improving stuff so you shouldn't complain about that". AND, I did see devs in threads address people directly with what they have planned to address their concerns, or explain why it is the way it is. So, yes, it's a WIP, but, the devs seem active in the community and are constructive.
Many people are complaining about the small number of players. Not sure how that impacts things. Also, it looks like you can be attacked once you build your walls. The vets pound the newbs. But they also say that what you lose in the battle, you gain more in 'crowns'. I don't know what crowns are. But they are saying that at the end of the battle, you have a net gain in 'resources'. But I think their point was that vets see a bigger gain and therefor, get even stronger faster.
Devs are promising a major update that it going to fix everything and bring all the old players back.
I dunno.

Was this in early release during the sale? Because it's on sale again, 75% off for $5. Seems odd.
