Booyah.

Scientists discovered they could switch on cancer in cells by removing the microRNAs from cells and preventing them from producing the protein.  And, crucially, they found that they could reverse the process, switching the brakes back on and stopping cancer.

I'm gonna not focus on Malcolm's fuckup and say that this is very exciting. It also raises questions about purposely triggering pre-cancerous replication to heal injuries and force cells to replicate past their telomere limits.

Researchers now know why wasp stings cure cancer. Unfortunately not as promising on the immortality front as Mal's (broken) link.

No, they're still assholes, just with a practical use.

Maybe every time a wasps stings you is because it sensed a melanoma on your skin and it just saved your life and wasps just can't understand why we hate them so much when all they want to do is help.

The species that reproduces by zombifying other species and having the young cannibalize them?  Oh yeah, nothing but benevolence coming from those things.

I don't think they fuck with scorpions.  Spiders, ants, other wasps, and a host of other insect species.

So again, they're fighting our natural enemies.

The wasp might be the most misunderstood creature on the planet.

Spiders kill more things that annoy you than wasps, in far greater quantities.  Cats kill mice but cats are still assholes.
