For gay sex scene.
As pointed out in the article, previous issues have featured sex scenes, just not same sex ones.
Seriously, what else can Apple do to prove it isn't the company liberals/hippies think?

I'd pull the entire series from their stores in response.

Well, duh. The Bible says that the Apple was for Adam & Eve, not Adam & Steve.

Actually, the more I think about it, up the ante. Do a lesbian sex scene in the next one, see what happens.

Maybe they didn't...
People are already calling BS.
Yesterday Comixology and Marvel were very vocal about the ban and how you could get the issue without relying on Apple, today Comixology is saying it was their call.
I think Apple got wind of the press, called Comixology and saved face. This is Comixology diving on the sword.
Is it possible Comixology's story is legit? Sure, but based on what they were saying yesterday...well, let's just say they worded it oddly...

The original story seemed rather insistent that it was Apple. Â The response from the publisher is completely absurd. QUOTE As a partner of Apple, we have an obligation to respect its policies for apps and the books offered in apps. Â Based on our understanding of those policies, we believed that Saga #12 could not be made available in our app, and so we did not release it today. What understanding of what policies were you questioning exactly? Â That's all you need to fucking say. Â That's it. Â If this is a misunderstanding, what the fucking fuck was misunderstood? Â English, motherfucker. Â Do you speak it?
QUOTE We did not interpret the content in question as involving any particular sexual orientation, and frankly that would have been a completely irrelevant consideration under any circumstance. Whoever you hired to word this press release should be fired and never allowed to work in the industry again. Â You have just confirmed this is totally about gay sex, otherwise you'd be answering my first question before immediately closing the above sentiment with this...
QUOTE Given this, it should be clear that Apple did not reject Saga #12. Those three paragraphs are strung together. Â There is nothing between them. Â Know what would have convinced me this was about some unrelated app store protocol bullshit and not something about the gay sex? Â A mention in your blog entry about the specific bullshit protocol, NOT a denial about the alleged, implied uppitiness about dudes fucking other dudes.
QUOTE ...though de Guzman's previous mention of sex without visible genitalia is likely the relevant reason. Maybe.

You can tell they are lying, because they put out a press release.
Although it probably wasn't Apple, it was Comixology that hates the gays. That's my bet.
