I might have posted something here previously about the FTC going after them for fraud...I'm too lazy to look.

Anyway, I found the latest FTC tactics interesting. They're requiring Experian, the company behind freecreditreport.com, to essentially discredit their own service on their website. You can see examples of how at the link above.

If I were Experian, I'd go with the massive banner ad one. Sure, it's bigger, but it looks fake, like an ad... The little one look far more official, and as if the company is hiding something.

More interestingly, did you know the FTC actually made a mock-freecreditreport.com commercial? I didn't, but then again, I fast forward through commercials. Someone at the FTC has a sense of humor.
