I'm often curious about movies, but don't want to watch them.  I went to TheMovieSpoiler.com and read about Darkness.

Basically, there's an evil darkness in an old house, the is personified by some old hags, and the evil can't hurt things in the light so the lights go out before people are mutillated.

I went to a motherhouse (where old nuns live) this morning.  It's a huge complex, built well over a century ago.  It's also dark and creepy.
I walked up the stairs to do maintenance on the computers in their computer room, and as I entered a large foyer the lights went out.
Then as I took a few more steps and turned, I noticed a really old woman standing in the darkness, staring at me quietly.

I about jumped out of my skin!
I stumbled out a greeting, and tried to act cool, but that nun must have thought I was a nut.

Interlude:  Their computer room has a ceiling fan, with a long metal pull chain.  It dangles to about my nose.  Also, just about every time I tough it, static electricity shocks the heck out of me.  So of course, I keep forgetting about it.  Today it zapped me right between the eyes.

On my way back that section of the building was still dark, and encountered another nun staring at me from the darkness.  This time I didn't jump, but my heart skipped.

So why were nuns standing in the shadows staring at you?

I do not remember that ever happening.
I'm sure it did, I just don't remember it.

Maybe I died and I'm in now wandering aimlessly in purgatory?

I was working on their grounds today, and I'm supposed to write up a maintenance contract for that facility.

You know, I've thought about it some and I sort of remember it.
I know the room I was talking about, and there is a chair in the corner.  There's also a lot of antique things standing about, and I think I sat at the computer and didn't notice the woman sitting there.

I was working on the PC when the lights cut off, and that's when I turned around and saw her.  She had been watching me.

Nuns don't like disturbing me.  One thing I didn't like about working there is that I'd be told to do A, B, C, & D and once I checked those off my list and nuns saw me leaving they ambushed me with new problems that they didn't want to bug me with while I was busy.

If I have a list I can multi-task rather than twiddle my thumbs while the computer does its thing.

My MIL is that way.  I go over to do a 30 minute project and I leave with 40 hours more of work.
