Our software lets users create "business rules" that are basically little functional programs (like formulas in excel). Some of the most handy of the functions of course use regular expressions.
One of the guys here in support today told me he finally gets regular expressions.
They're tricky at first, but once you get it, you can do just about anything with them.

Regular expressions are one of those things where at first it seems like Greek.... then you wonder how you ever lived without them.

What's to be confused by? If you knew grep back in the days of Unix, you pretty much know regular expressions.
