I have been thinking about this topic lately because things have occurred that have tapped into my childhood memories (Gordon's posting of that church commercial was yet another example of this) and I've been amazed at what I remember from advertisements.
For example, after buying a new couch at Ashley Furniture, the wife wanted to stop into TJ Maxx next store to look for trinkets to decorate our rooms. While walking into the store I started singing, "You get the max for the minimum at TJ Maxx." Apparently that jingle is so old my wife claims she had never heard it before.
I've got two McDonald's ones: 1. Two all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions on a sesame seed bun 2. Big Mac, Filet O'Fish, Quarter Pounder, French Fries, Icy Coke, Thick Shake, and... I forget the last part.
Let's test you. Take a moment and think about nothing. (One of you just pictured the Stay Puff Marshmellow Man...) Back on topic, starting singing or humming the Coke song.
I guarantee the vast majority of you were able to do so. They play the damn thing every Christmas in their commercials.
In an odd side note, I never shop at TJ Maxx nor was I fan of Coke products.
Anyone else have someone's marketing etched into their brain?
