Third day of rioting.
So a guy got killed by cops during a gunfight where shots were being exchanged and it sparked protests. These protests lead to looting of the rioters' own neighborhoods, and stores they frequent.
Where is the logic? Did they learn nothing from Gandhi?
Are we really supposed to believe that these people are upset about a guy getting killed in a gun fight? Does being upset about a guy getting killed give you permission to loot stores, put the general public in harm's way, and attempt to commit murder yourself (throwing fire bombs at police and setting fire to inhabited buildings)?
Do these idiots understand what their actions are going to bring to their immediate future? If they think the cops/laws are tough now, just wait.
The short term thinking is so strongly on display that I wouldn't surprised if it turns out the protestors are really U.S. Congressmen.
And following the protestors' own logic, at what point is it ok for the police to end the riots by simply shooting them?

Since my knowledge of England comes primarily from the Sex Pistols and The Clash, I'm guessing there's a lot of youths (minorities/immigrant/poor) who don't really feel like they have fuck-all opportunity in England anyway, so why not riot? They're not the ones visiting those stores, they've got no money.

Are the people rioting "youths?"
"Youths" are what they always call immigrant Muslims in the sharia sections of town.

Three people killed.
I guess the cops finally showing up in force pretty much squashed the riots last night, but this incident still occurred.

That incident occurred the night before the police clampdown. Looks like the police finally woke up.

I'm pretty sure I've done a rant here before about how political correctness has lowered the standards for public service, and thus, has not only endangered lives, but has cost people their lives. There's simply no way it hasn't.

Police in the U.K. struck me as about as worthless as the police in the U.S. Â Never there when they'd be useful to you, power-tripping delusional control freaks who are focusing on idiotic crimes when the larger issues of murder, burglary, embezzlement, etc., go unpunished because someone's covering a disco tune from thirty-odd years ago and some overly sensitive, sheltered twats got offended.

QUOTE That was posted elsewhere a while back. Complete idiocy. That's what happens when you make stupid laws to protect people's feelings.
QUOTE Cops haven't proven the gun recovered from the dead dude was actually fired. Â Early tests indicated the bullet recovered from a cop's radio (like the ones they wear slung across their shoulder or belt) was more consistent with a cop-issued round than a bullet that would've been fired from the dead dude's gun. Â There's no question whether or not this incited the riots. Â There is a genuine question of whether or not a few officers, by some accounts, just up and executed someone.
Yeah I noticed the story has changed since the beginning. Initially they were reporting a gunfight. Now the story is getting murky. Although, I wouldn't call it an execution yet. Shooting another cop during an "execution" would be shockingly bad aim.
P.S. That might have sparked the riots, but don't be fooled into thinking that's why they continued or why most of those people were out there. "Protest" doesn't equal looting, arson, and murder, among other crimes.

"Protest" doesn't equal looting, arson, and murder, among other crimes. Initially started as a march outside the cop station. Dead dude's relatives wanted to know how/why he ended up dead. A few folk got impatient, turned over some cop cars, and set them ablaze.
People over there are generally pissed from having their economy in shittier straits than ours. And then there's the joke that's the EU.

Gun control? Shit, carrying a Swiss Army knife is goddamned near illegal over there.

Use lethal defenses and then just throw the burglar's body in the Thames. Cheaper and easier.
