Oops!

As the article points out, the weirdest thing about the ad is that ever if the Heat had won last night, that wouldn't have made them the champs.

Speaking of the Heat, and LeBron, I've rarely ever seen the MSM so elated over one man's bad fortunes. The tone of the articles I'm seeing today are giddy. You can hear the laughter behind the words.

Actually, that's not right. Yes, there is laughter because Miami was so fucking arrogant, and shame on the MSM for enabling them.

However, I think even more so than laughter, there was relief. People simply don't want to see this team succeed. Not just because of "The Decision", and not just because they were soooooooooooooo arrogant. (What professional sports team has a pep rally? Seriously?)

I think people are relieved because this team represented the death of small market teams across all sports. This was the New York Yankees only in the NBA. With labor issues in the NFL, the NBA, and the NHL, I think most people look at the Miami Heat and see a future of sports where only big market teams can compete. Where the concept of team and hard work is gone in favor of individuals and attitudes.

In the end, I think everything worked out brilliantly for David Stern and the NBA owners. They had nothing to do with it, but they allowed one player who was universally loved turn himself into the sporting world's most reviled person, and boost NBA ratings in the process. Them not winning the title means the majority of fans left happy and will continue to tune in to watch LeBron and company fail again. It's the team you love to hate.

Still, I don't think they're going to have a season next year. We honestly face the prospect of the NFL, NBA, and NHL all being on work stoppages.

I'd say "go baseball" but my team sucks horribly at the moment.

Baseball. Ha!

The most boring game ever invented. Not to mention the game that's the most broken. The other leagues are all in work stoppage danger because they don't want to end up like MLB.

I remember someone on ESPN writing an article about how baseball should end their season, including the World Series, by August 31st. He even figured out the schedule and only had to drop like 8 games. Point being, baseball would have it's own season and not get completely lost in the fall when football starts.

That doesn't solve their free agency issues, but it's a start to making it relevant again.

I would watch soccer over baseball. Although, that's technically not fair since I'd watch the World Cup over almost anything, except football, and that depends on who is playing.

So I'll instead say baseball is more entertaining than women's insert name of sport here.

Soccer looks to be full of a handful of Eurotrash stereotypes.

True, but one could argue that baseball is full of Hispanic and Caribbean stereotypes.
