Been quiet (not-funny) recently, but here they are, f-ing golden:

Ha. Whatever agency they work with is awesome. I wonder how many "too far" ones they sent. Even "progressive" clients axe 2/3 ideas, in my experience.

Posted by TPRJones on Jun. 28 2011,10:45
I wonder if they already turned down "Our fairs are da bomb!"
Posted by Malcolm on Jun. 29 2011,16:45
"Come hijack a vacation with us."

"We give it to you cheap and easy."

"Since the TSA gropes you, we exclusively employ ex-Hooters waitresses as flight attendants so you have someone to grope, too."

"Spirit Airlines: The fastest and cheapest way to flee the state."

"You have fear of flying, we have complimentary Oxycontin."
Posted by TPRJones on Jun. 30 2011,16:47
"How can we afford these low fares?  Our pilots work for peanuts!"

Posted by Malcolm on Jun. 30 2011,17:24
"Other airlines just have first class.  We have special celebrity-piloted luxury flights for getting your drink on."

"Other airlines have luxury first class.  We have no class.  And we pass those savings on to you."

"Fuck waiting in line for landing, we understand your time is valuable."

New one today.

QUOTE
Cheap airline fares may not look so cheap later this month but you will be able to see what you're really paying.

New consumer protection rules are forcing airlines to be more upfront with prices.

Beginning in two weeks, advertised fares will have to show all government taxes and other fees that are currently hidden and that often add up to 50-percent to a ticket price.

Knowing the full price upfront will give you the chance to more easily compare prices between airlines.

Airlines must also include fees for checking bags and give customers 24 hours to change a reservation with no re-booking fee.

So, who's lying, Spirit Air or the federal government?

Personally, I never believe the government about anything until it's been proven to be true.

Most likely the government has made this rule that makes airfares show as the total including taxes to avoid surprises about how much that total will be.  But in the process they probably also made it so that the taxes have to show as part of the airfare and not be itemized, so they can hide it in there and avoid a tax revolt.  Because that's the sort of cheesy shit they tend to do.

We have rules to protect consumers from companies, why can't we get some to protect consumers from government?
