"Agent Carter."  The chick from 1940's Captain America.

SHIELD sure seems to have their share of hot, superhuman (yet not) women ass kickers.

A period piece? meh.

Pretty sure in the books Captain America hooks up with her smoking hot daughter (granddaughter?) who is also an asskicker working for SHIELD.

The IM3 One Shot is about her kicking ass.

SHIELD renewed for a second season, and this Agent Carter show has been given the green light.

Was almost hoping they would stop with this season of SHIELD and just create Ultron, or something.  They could certainly go in that direction.  Let a season of the show act as filler between seasons.

ALSO.... it's almost spoilerish, isn't it.  Apparently SHIELD is going on, in the Marvel universe.

I am pleased to see some Howling Commandos in this set shot.

Did anyone watch this?

I found it to be "ok."  It was great as a period piece, and we got some fleshing-out of the Marvel universe in several ways.  I can tell it was a very well-made show.... I think it just lacked any "FUCK YEAH!" moments.

And, it seems like it knocked the "Agent Carter" One-Shot out of canon.

I did not. I don't typically enjoy period pieces.

You should read some sort of summary of the universe-fleshing-out, if nothing else.  Wikipedia might do that sort of thing.

We watched it and enjoyed it.  The whole "Poor Peggy the accomplished agent that was forged in the fires of WWII isn't appreciated and made to take lunch orders and not taken seriously because she's a woman" was starting to REALLY get on my nerves about the time they stopped harping on it.  Other than that, I really liked it.  They did a good job with Stark's personality and made you really understand why Tony is the way he is.

I'll watch the whole series on Netflix when it gets there.

Started to watch the second season.  Got as far as the second episode (2nd hour of two hour season premiere) and after the second reference to the plight of the poor black scientist I decided I couldn't stomach another season of being preached at by social justice warriors in the 40's and the wife and I both agreed it needed to be purged from the DVR queue.
