< Blah. Blah. Blah. THINK OF THE CHILDREN. Blah. Blah. Blah. >QUOTE But that sense of control may come at a price, Wasserman said, especially for children and adults obsessed with games loaded with violent imagery. Yea, just think of all the otherwise innocent folk that became violent from watching Moe, Larry, & Curly. I exclude Shemp, Joe, & Curly Jo, cos well, people have a legitimate excuse to want them dead. Posted by DoctorChaos on Jun. 22 2007,08:44
I think I might change my sig to read 'I can't be responsible for my actions because environmental factors beyond my control warped my widdle mind' Posted by TPRJones on Jun. 22 2007,09:48
QUOTE "Basically, you're using a disproportionate amount of time on the video game, and it's what you are thinking about even when you're not on the video game," he said. "And even though it's having negative consequences for you in school or your family situation, or it's taking a disproportionate amount of your money, you still continue to do it. You spend less time with your friends or in other social things." So what? Maybe they like to play games? Everyone is "addicted" to something or other by their definition. We all have something we like to do with our time that we do more than other things we do, and most of us go a little overboard on whatever it is we like the most. Wait a fucking second? They talk how it cuts into social shit? What about LAN parties? Fucking hell, MMOGs cater to people exclusively into social interactions, just via digital avatars.

Bah, just ignore shit like that. It's just the death cries of a generation that grew up without video games. Does anyone here think the "blame it all on video games" trend is going to continue much longer? Gamers are going into power now. We're corporate executives, politicians, journalists, etc. Hell, the average age of a gamer is now 35. 50% of gamers are women. It's very simple, ANYTHING in excess can be negative towards one's life, but you know what? That's their choice to make. Here's a thought: Let's see a study about how living on welfare with unemployed parents affects a child. Posted by Malcolm on Jun. 26 2007,08:24
