Not too bad. Not too bad at all. I like the cinematics of the battles. The tracer rounds, missles, flame throwers, etc. Fun to watch the battles take place. I've played it very, very little so far. But what I've played makes it much fun. I get the impression that it has lots of varriety as far as the units and upgrades and what not. But, not sure yet. The different races have different strengths/weaknesses too. The few hours I've put into it so far have been very entertaining.

I played this when it first came out like a Loon....I was ranked top 25 or so on the Ladder before I quit. Eldar was my favorite race, this is back when 90% of the Space Marines threw a scout rush at you. If there are some people that would want to get together to play... I would DEFINITLY be down. Is there really only 11 missions in the campaign? And you only play as the Space Marines? Feels like I'm missing something.

I just loaded the Winder Assault expansion pack (AKA The Christmas Eddition). It lets you do the campaign as order or disorder. Good/bad guys. Playing as the Imperial Guard and Eldar so far. Nice change from the first.

A second expansion pack is on the way that will let you play with the Tau and a to be announced faction.

So, if anyone hasn't noticed, Dawn of War 2 is coming out in February.It looks < Great!(Try Multi, Large) >. Best of all they are having a free multiplayer demo for a week starting < the 21st for people who own soulstorm and 28th for everyone else >. It looks rad, and Multi is hella fun. That's how I start most of my games, cause that's how I like to play most of them. SupCom was loaded, and I started skirmishes. Have yet to play a single mission.

I won my first game without knowing where to look for how many resources i was collecting/had stockpiled.I just was running my guys around shooting, and then clicking back on my HQ to smash build random units. You still play DoW2 Troy? The single player campaign is massive fun. I can only beat the AI on normal so far. Bumping it to hard, and it beats me pretty quickly. I can beat normal pretty quickly. Hard to find a middle ground to play right now. But the campaign is the best one I've played in a long time.

The latest download of DoW2 on Steam did some good stuff. The first thing I noticed was Chaos showing up in some of the selection windows. "You must purchase stuff to use this" I was upset that I had to sit through a massive download for them to tease me with the expansion stuff. Fuckers.That is, until I played another skirmish. Space Marines can now add Lascannons to the Pred and Dread. Eldar came at me with some Wraithguard who hurt my infantry FAST. The Marines now have a librarian unit as well as some other unit upgrades. That's all I've noticed so far. I think Troy is the only one that plays this right now. It's been a long time since an update to a game has blown me away. This one does. Just fought the Chaos army. Holy shit do they have some cool units. I've noticed a fair number of changes to my army as well. Plasma cannons fuck infantry up. In groups. I was starting to think Marines were way under powered the way I'd get mowed down by some armies/units. But, I'm learning the new strengths of my army/units and pushing back. Just played an hour long battle pushing forward, getting pushed back, etc. At one point, I thought the AI gave up. I marched across the map collecting all of the resource points. When I went for his base, I ran into MEGA units that were insane. Beat the shit out of me and took the whole map back. He was turtling! I found that assult terminators are the shit and was able to push back again.I REALLY like the few new units they gave each army. Playing against Chaos makes me want to buy the expansion so I can play as them. I like the new powers the units have. Just all around way good changes. Made a really fun game kick even more ass. I can't wait to see what they do with Tau (hopefully). |
