An indy game that has garnered some pretty positive reviews.

I picked it up at $7 during this latest Steam sale and started playing it two nights ago. I'll say that $7 is probably too high a cost. I'd recommend you buy the game once it hits $5 or lower.

Anyway, this game is a side scroller. Think Mario except with zombies, and GORGEOUS. Seriously, this is easily one of the most beautiful games I've ever played. It's so beautiful that despite the hectic pace at times, you'll find yourself stopping to look around.

Despite the zombie theme, this is more about jumping and puzzles than killing zombies. This is disguised rather well until you get to the "Rat" part of the game. That's just straight up jumping puzzles.

The biggest flaw in the game is the writing. It tries way too hard. For example, the diary kept by the main character attempts to be profound and intelligent, but comes off as insane. Beyond that, character motivations and dialogue are really bad.

Still, the game is so gorgeous, and just fun enough to play that you'll ignore the weak story.

I think anyone reading this would enjoy the game for the whole 8 hours it lasts. (Expect to die...a lot.)

Is it Mario with zombies or more like Metroid with zombies? I had heard the Metroid comparison which is what peaked my interest. Kind of like Shadow Complex also.

Well, it's mostly jumping puzzles and limited combat.

Consider it to be more of an interactive and ridiculously beautiful storybook.

So no upgrading tools and backtracking to other areas to use them?

More just keep walking forward?

This is really cool so far. Some of the stuff I have come across is a little far fetched but I have never let that stuff get in the way of being entertained.

Not finished yet so I don't know what the the twist or surprise is yet. If there even is one but I am assuming there is because the drivers licenses seem a bit strange.

I got this for $2 so it is totally worth the price but I would have preferred to play it on the console or with a wired 360 controller on my PC. The keyboard controls are terrible but not comfortable either.
