Nope. Needs to be a free to play model to attract enough players to make it work well. And have players able to play as zombie hordes on the PvP servers if they wish.

I didn't read the article. It's not free to play? How quaint. Posted by Leisher on Sep. 11 2012,15:59
< You can permanently lose items that you pay for with real money. >I don't see this becoming an issue at all... Posted by Cakedaddy on Sep. 11 2012,17:08
That's how it was in UO back in the day. You could buy stuff on Ebay (Richard bragged that the exchange rate between UO gold and US dollar was higher than that of Italian currency) and lose it in the game.I remember when my wife had a ridable lama for sale on ebay with a screen shot of her on it. She got an email from someone in the RL lama community saying that lamas should never be ridden. Anyway, I think that's a ballsy move and I commend them for it. However, not enough people want that. Most people want carebear land. UO Trammel. Everyquest. WoW. Etc. The truly open sandbox game will never be back. People are pussies. Posted by Leisher on Dec. 19 2012,10:05
I was really interested in this game, and it just hit Steam, however...< Article. > So they're lying about features, saying their customers are stupid, can't read, and the missing features are their fault, and charging money so you can respawn 3 hours earlier? I'm no longer interested. Posted by Malcolm on Dec. 19 2012,10:14
QUOTE People are pussies. That and they'd rather spend their time having fun than getting blasted and losing all their virtual dollars. That makes the "having fun" part a bit more difficult. Posted by Leisher on Dec. 19 2012,11:27
< UPDATE! >Valve removed the game from their store and is offering refunds if you want one. Wow. Posted by Leisher on Apr. 02 2013,10:51
So it got back onto Steam last week, and guess what?< It's been taken offline as it and its forums have been hacked. User data has been lost. > |
