I was thinking about this last night after we got handled pretty good in that first game with the 1000+ game veterans. Let's leave the other LoL thread for news, strategies, etc., but use this thread to post builds we've discovered for various characters. So if you see a dominating player, write down his build, in order, and post it here. We've missed this opportunity previously with Udyr, Swain, Singed, Amumu, Graves, Twisted Fate, WuKong, etc. Hopefully, this will help us a bit to learn from those folks who have been playing this game a lot longer than we have. Plus, it'll be nice to have them all in one place rather than googling many random websites with out of date builds. Oh, and be sure to specify if the build you saw was in Classic or Dominion. Might want to make notes about play style as well. I remember a Singed that Solo'd top, and owned our two in that lane, pushed it and worked all the way up to the inhibitor. A good build doesn't allow you to do that. You have to know what you are doing.Much like last night. I don't think our builds lost us the game, we got out played. In our lane, every time Singed initiated a fight, the champ Singed picked as a target would retreat and the other would charge. They had ranged attacks, so they both beat up Singed while the target drew him farther away from me and further into their 'kill zone'. By the time we realized our attack failed, he was too deep to make it out and I was going in trying to save him. Then they focused on me and I went down. It happened over and over. We under estimated the damage they were doing, over estimated our tanking abilities and played like shit. Gordon also noted a high number of critical hits. This gives us some clues as to what runes/masteries they are picking which is a key part of the build. So, noting play style and stuff is important too. A summary of who they were laning with, against and break down of fights should be noted as well. Posted by Leisher on Jan. 04 2012,10:28
Actually, I don't agree with that. I want this thread to be just builds. If we start talking how to play with each guy, it's going to get WAY off topic. I guess a better way to handle everything would be to start a new category for LoL and title each chain by the name of the champion and have one called strategy or something? I figured it would be something like this:Build: item item item item Possible Runes and masteries: blah blah blah (heavy crit hits and lots of them) Laned with Champ B against Champ C and D. Combo's used and tactics where we got owned where blah blah blah. Kind of a template on a champ and how he was so successful and what made him so. Posted by Cakedaddy on Jan. 04 2012,15:48
I say that, because knowing the build is only part of the story. I can solo top with Maokai really well, so far. I can hold the enemies off and even push them. But when soloing top, I take a different build than when I'm laning with someone. Solo, I'm taking warmog's early. Partnering, I'm taking the frozen sword thing that slows enemy attacks. Different play style leads to different build. That Swain that kicked our asses so long ago. . . what made him able to do that? Was it only his build? Or was it his early game laning tactics that allowed him to feed and then own us? A build with no tactics is . . . . just a build. Last night, we built all our characters the same as always. But, we got hammered. Because of the tactics used against us. Granted, we lost as a team and that's a whole nother topic. But, when a single champ excels, I think we need to note what they were doing, and against whom that lead to his success.

I just added LOL to the "private" games forum, below. We can make some individual build/tactics/whatever threads in there, if we want to keep things separated.
