Getting StartedWhen you make your character, in that water rectangle thing, there was a guy in the top center corner. he asked for your "Hearthfire secret" If you had put "DTMan", it would have put your hearthfire next to ours. Essentially your hearthfire is where you log in at, you can also use it to quick travel back home. Game Client < Use the following > (Note: requires Java) < Somewhat helpful guide to getting started > Posted by Troy on Apr. 06 2010,08:35
Two thoughts while between projects:Food: We have food for every stat now, or can get it. Always raise whatever your lowest stat is (exception being charisma and psyche, which are not important). The FEP system is a little complicated. You're highest stat(Strength/Dexterity/whatever) has a number, say 10. To gain another point of any stat, you have to get a total of FEP points equal to your highest stat, in this case, 10. You get these points by eating all foods, except bread. < Here is the food table >. Say I eat bear meat, rabbit food, and pumpkin flesh. I get 5 strength FEPs, 3 Agility FEPS, and 2 Constitution FEPS. So my FEP bar goes up to 10, and the game triggers a little noise, and an attribute gain. My attribute can only gain from one of the FEPs I ate to get there, and is percentage based. Based on the food I ate, I have a 50% chance that my point is strength, 30% of Agility, and 20% of constitution. So try to gain evenly, if you pump strength up to 40, and everything is at 10, you have to eat shitload of food(40 FEPS) just to get to 11 of another stat. Always try to eat food that raises your lowest attribute. Diet: Now if that wasn't complicated enough, a balanced diet is rewarded. For each different food you eat to get a new attribute point, it reduces your total needed for the next gain by one. Say you need 25 to gain a attribute, if you eat 5 different foods, you actually only need 20. After you gain, it resets back to your maximum stat. |
