I tried UO once, and hated it.  Didn't even finish my free month.  But it was way late in the game, so maybe I'd like earlier stuff.

Especially if there were some folks around that I knew and would be willing to explain the basics, then it'd be worth giving it a shot.

If you do make a server, add me to the applicant list, please.

The early days of UO were, by far, some of the best times in gaming.

Then EA nerfed everything and it went downhill.

I can play a hot elf chick in UO, right?

It's been brought to my attention that I MAY have taken Darwin's message the wrong way by someone who wouldn't officially know, but just made an observation.

If that's the case then 'my bad,' but lots of other fucked stuff came from admins in the past which was the real reason we quit over a year ago.  Everything else in the post is still applicable.

Darwin's still bitter from back in the GL days.  I have no idea who he was, but he sure has a hate-on for us.  I can only assume he was in a guild we warred.  He dropped a bunch of guilds he was in at one point.  I recognized none.  Except B*G, assuming that's Blood Guard.  And what I find ironic, is he was in all these big powerful strong guilds. . .  Why so many?  What happened to them that you had to keep guild hopping?  Know how many guilds I was in?  One.  Our members would change over time, but the core was always there.  And to argue we had no impact on the server or that we sucked at PvP. . . well, they just didn't pay attention.  Sure glad we documented so many of our days there.  One of my favorites is the picture at the bottom of Gordon's UO page.  The faction standings.  It took us three weeks to get there.  And. . . the top faction names on both lists cheated with the points.  They would dump all guild points onto one character, then never take them into battle (right Troy?!).  Thus, they never lost points in combat.  You see our names on the list. . . But then, factions were dumb and really stupid and I'm rambling. . .

Again.  Darwin is bitter about something.  I have no idea what.  I read his comments a while back as it was fun to do a search for 'TKV' on that board to see what was said.  I just wasn't motivated enough to create an account to respond.

Oh. . . and speaking of Troy.  I was just curious.  Did anyone ever tell you that we owned that little shop outside the cave to Delucia?  The one that Chloe ran.  You guys were one of our bigger customers there.  Damn near all the stuff you bought from there was your loot smelted down and remade with our names on it.  Many of the potions you bought were placed on vendors directly after combat that we looted from you.  We never used your potions.  Hell, we didn't use anything we didn't make ourselves.  Anyway, not bragging or anything, was just curious.  :-)

You know, even though I was just writing about the fucked up Metro admins, it was still fun to make a UO post, again.

I managed to catch on for a number of reasons...

1)Chloe, saw her around a few times, and knew she was someones crafting alt.

2)You ran there once or twice when me and Seker were out looking for trouble, probaly dumping some of our lesser guild members loot

3) When you managed to kill Troy, he naturally had primo dyed Magic Leather Armor. I had a strange fetish for that stuff, I'd pay 500k for a fortification suit and take it in to combat, mostly because the way me and Seker  hunted in factions and stuff, it was low risk. I also had played for about half a year as a Provoker mage, and had a pile of gold and magics you would not bleieve.

Anyway, I remeber dropping a suit of hardening one time, and finding it on that vendor. I bought it back, naturally.

Did you guys ever notice that there were two different hunting parties you faced? Either Me, Seker, and another Decent connection/pvper, Or the band of tardos.

The tardos were the ones who mainly lived in and around that Big House. They were often a liability in combat, and didnt even use pots or sometimes armor.

They were the #1 reason that I created the Faction guild, so I could select who I wanted to fight with. After I could choose, our smaller, faster, better equipped parties performed admirably. The core was always me and Seker tho.

Who was that one guy in your guild... he was a white supremicist...

"Dodgin Bullits" from the Metro server was the reincarnation of him.  I think he also played a character named "Teen Angst."

Berzerker.  Sad, sad individual.
