If I could take credit for cursing that place, I would. Much as I'd like to believe that witch-doctor did some good, I doubt it.

I think DW gets a bad rap. It's great if you have kids, and I've honestly never dealth with a company in which EVERY SINGLE EMPLOYEE I had contact with was clean, friendly, and knowledgeable.We asked a random person walking around with a broom where we could find a certain character... she pulled a map out of her back pocket, showed us where to go, pointed out the route on the map, and showed us a good shortcut. My main memories of my trip to NYC are a rude toll booth operator, and a person at a Burger King who threw my change at me.

Now go a block or two off the strip and that's a different story. Most tourist places know where their bread gets buttered and the security around areas that tourists frequent is usually boosted to ridiculous levels. The strip in Vegas is like that (undercover cops are EVERYWHERE). The resorts in Mexico are like that. Anywhere cruise ships dock in the Caribbean is like that. Etc. There's something about the notion of "more security" which runs contrary to almost every cell in me. But I suppose it has it's place.
